  1. My experience was that many schools wanted a 1000 combined GRE, others wanted 500 in each category (math and verbal). There are also direct entry schools out there that don't require the GRE -- lots of variations based upon what sort of degree(s) and what-not you want to end up with. Good luck!
  2. Pianitra - is your question about the interview in regards to rochester? I felt the exact opposite with mine - I spoke with jane tuttle from the FNP program and she was very informative -- definitately said things that got me excited about the program. She didn't ask a ton of specific questions, but was great in answering any of my questions and providing info. I have heard great things about the school.
  3. welcome to my world. I am in the exact same boat as you...and was told I have until Feb 2 to reply to University of Rochester. I've visited Hopkins in Baltimore and liked the area but have not been to University of Rochester (although I have heard great things about it)...the programs seem pretty parallel (I applied for FNP) but am not sure if I'm able to fork over the extra cash for Hopkins...It is a tough decision, and I wish I could tell you what I've decided!!
  4. congrats! i also received my acceptance packet last friday, but have been going crazy trying to decide since ive applied to a few other programs as well but wont find out until after rochester's reply deadline! do you know how big the class is?
  5. I applied for accelerated to FNP. I didn't have too many problems with them, every time I called, I got the answer that I was looking for without too much trouble. Waiting for them to set up a phone interview took a little longer than I would have liked, but I've come to learn that in this whole process, everything takes longer than you'd expect. I think part of what helped for me was that it was one of the first applications that I submitted, so everything was more organized on my end!
  6. I just received my acceptance letter today for University of Rochester's Acclerated MSN program. I'm awaiting decisions from 6 other schools, but have to reply by Feb 2. which isn't much time Soooo...is anyone familiar with the school, region, program? I live in WI and would like to gather as much information as possible in making my decision. So, any insight into Rochester NY and the University/nursing program would be excellent (the good, the bad, and the ugly -- and the great). Thanks so much!!!
