Question.
I'm getting ready to go to college in the Fall. I am a little nervous about the pre-reqs and nursing school its self. At my school i have to the Organic Chemistry, and I was wondering if this was like the O-Chem you would take in Med School, or is it just an introduction? I also have to the Statistics, but I am horrible at math, is statistics really hard? In you opinion what was the toughest part of of NS and what was the toughest class you had to take for your pre-reqs in your opinion? I have a passion for Anatomy and Physiology and i excel in that subject--do you have to be a Math wiz as well to do well in NS? the other class im worried about is the chemistry's....how are these classes? and if you have any tips please don't hesitate to post them! thanks!

What are the pre-nursing classes like?
Thanks so much! i was hoping you'd say A&P b/c im taking that class now and I absolutely LOVE it! i have 103% right now in that class, so i dont think that'll be a problem in College. only the chemistry's and math's are my biggest worry.

few questions
I have a few questions about nursing school & classes" I am currently a senior in high school and i want to get my BSN. I get fairly good grades, i have a 3.0 but idid horrible on my ACT, i only got a 17. my questions are: 1. do nursing schools look at your ACTscores & high School grades? or are they just worried about your pre-reqs? If i cannot get into a university with my ACT score i plan on attending a community college then transferring to a univ's.BSN program. the community colleges i want to attend are: Santa monica or Pasadena City College. and then transfer to one of this univ's. i picked which were Cal state long beach, cal state los angeles, or azusa pacific. 2. i am really confused on how to do the community college transfer thing. do i just find the pre-reqs needed @ one of the univs. i want to attend and then show that too one of the guidance councelor's @ the community college and they will place me in the right classes to complete my pre-reqs? Im just really confised & my guidance councelor at my high school is no help at all, everytime i ask her a question all she says is to search it on google. so i need someone to make this step very clear too me. 3. and i noticed that some pre-reqs are organic chem is this organic chem like BASIC organic chem class or is it the real deal, like you'd take in med school? i want to attend college in california, as an out of state student ( i live in ohio) and all this is just so confusing!! i planned on getting my Accociates degree then doing the bridge program to my BSN but i heard that all hospitals in california require a BSN. is this true?

I am currently a Senior in High-School, and my dream is to become a nurse. I'm still debating whether to go and just my Associates in Nursing, or go and get my Bachelors. I was talking to my friend's mom, and she was saying that some hospitals in California (This is where I plan on going for Nursing School & live once graduated) it is mandatory to have a Bachelors degree in nursing in order to work @ some hospitals- She isn't a nurse, so I don't know how accurate this could be. Also, I thought all a Bachelor degree does is make you applicable to go into management. Another thing, if i go and get my Associates degree, and graduate, will i be able to go back to school again for another 2 years if i wanted to get my BSN? another thing, if i decide to get my BSN do you think its a good idea to go to a community college to get my pre-reqs out of the way then transfer to a univ for the nursing school part? I am not really interested in a management position as a nurse so should i even get my BSN?? thank you!!!!

Curious About the Nursing Career..............
I have a question, I am currently in 11th grade, and my plans are to become an RN. I was wondering if you need any algebras at all in nursing school or prereqs for nursing school or on the acual floor. I am terrible at math, i take the lowest math classes at my HS as possible, i still have not taken ALgebra 2, and dont plan on it because i dont think i can pass it, im barly passing this algrbra i am in now..i have a C....my math teacher says its not even alg 2 that im in its lower... i was wondering if the college i attend will make me take alg 2 in college. If they do, will nursing schools look at this grade? or do they only take the grades that are theirr pre reqs into consideration? Should i take alg 2 my senior year??

Traveling Nurse Question........
I was wondering as a traveling nurse, do you travel all around the country? Or do you just travel in the state you live? If not, are you able to make it so you can just travel in your state? Also, how do you become one? After you graduate nursing school, what do you do? I would like to be a traveling nurse, but i dont wanna be out of my state all the time. I live in Southern California, how much do Travel RN's make here? Main question is, if i can just travel within the state I live or near my city ( like travel to different hospitals and what not)

California Schools.........
i was wondering if anyone can provide me with info on some good colleges that i can major in nursing. I want my BSN. I am currently a junior in HS. I heard about CSLB,is that a good school?? i was wondering if you can give me the requirements...I live in ohio as of now,but am going back to my home state which is Cali, do you think it will be harder for me to get into a college out there that i can major in nursing since i dont live out there.....i have like out there til i was 15...moved to ohio becasue of family..and now i am going ot be turning 18...will this make it harder for me to get in since i am "not a resident" Is it hard to find a job as a nurse in california?? i heard it was...but how can this be if its in "such high demand"

I have a question..
I was wondering the level of math required to enter nursing school. I've heard pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2...what is the REAL one? And also, is nursing school EXTREAMLY hard to get into like everyone says?? And when nursing school look to accept you, do they ONLY look at the prereqs for their school you have toaken or do they look at EVERYTHING (e.x say i had to take pre algebra for a nursing program...but my college made me take a algebra 2 or some other class, would they also take the agebra 2 in consideration, or would they just look at my pre-algebra grade?) The question that alsways runs through my mind is, what acyually make nursing school hard..i've heard its really hard...then i've heard its really really easy as long as you study evry night. Can you tell me if you found/find it hard? and if you do whats so hard? I really really want to be a nurse, but in Highschool im just an average joe with a 3.0-3.304 4. ( but this report card i have all A's and one B. yay me!!) Some people make nursing seem like only a straight A student can make it through nursing school.....

Hello, i am currently an 11th grader, and i am making my schedule for my senior year. I have the option of taking Chemistry, or Anatomy, I was wondering what course you think i should take to give me a jump start on my pre reqs for nuring school. I think i would struggle more with chem, but if you had to pick which one do you think would give me a "jump start" better. Thanks!!!!!!

I was wondering if some of you nursing students can answer my questions.
hello, i am currently a junior in HS, and i have come by myany careers i am intrested in, but i def. think nursing wins the pick. I really love people and would love to care for them! But i just have a few questions..... I heard nursing school is very overwhelming, hard, & stressful. why you consider it HARD? Also, what do you typically learn in nursing school, (e.x. do you have to be some what like a doctore..and know every single symptom in the book, and know every diseas in the book, and know that these symptoms lead to that disease?) Whats it like, give me some insight on what you learn,,i dont know how to explain it...the best i can do is..do they teach you every symtom..every diseas every whatever..and teach you what each of these things leads too? or do they teach you more on how to do procedures on patiesnts, or whatever. What im looking for is a general expleanation on WHAT you learn in nursing school. I also heard nursing school is as hard as med school or harder. i find this very very hard to believe, but is it true? im not super smart...i dont take those honors / AP classes all i take is some general ed and some academics, does this define me as being too "dumb" to make it through? basically, im just an average joe in highschool, nothing spectacular, but definatley nothing bad. Also, i want to become a CNA, so i can work close with a nurse and kinda get a feel of the job, how do i do this, can istill be 17 with no diploma yet and still work as a CNA? If yes, how do i go about doing this and how long does it take? Thanks everone for their help!!!!!!!!

Questions about nursing school and nursing in general
Hello, i was just wondering if anyone can answers juat a few of my questions about Nursing, i am a junior in Highschool. I am very well interested in becoming an RN, i really love helping people and i really think it's my calling. I dont want to see people suffer and i dont want the family to suffer either. what is really inspiring me to become a nurse is, my father has heart disease, and whe mt father goes in for open heart surgeries, i absolutley love how comforting and caring the nurses are and how they give me the best insights ever., and i love to do that to someone elses life. They really impact my outlook of things,. what i was wondering is, i heard you can go to a community college and become and RN. I want my BSN in nursing and i was wondering am i able to go to a community college and acquire this? Not the BSN degree but you know like the prereqs and stuff and then after i finsh prereqs in a community college can i then go on to a 4 year college and start on my BSN? I am really confues on how to do this. my guidance councelor at school is very discouraging to all the students and is not a big help at all....so im kinda stuck becuse i dont want to go talk to her ABOUT MY PLANS. i was wondering if anyone can tell me the path i would have to take so or if it is possible to go to a community college, to start my prereqs and then transfer to a 4 year college. i am so discombobulated its not funny!!!!! i just really need someone to really explain the steps i need to take inorder to get my BSN and become a RN though going to a community college..if at all possibel, and if your kind please epalin the other way too of just going straight to a four year college.... Another thing, i keep hearing " the job of a nurse is very very hard" is this true that it is VERY VERY hard, or is that a little eggagerated a littel. i know it will be hard but im sure its not VERY VERY hard, if so can you explain to me what makes the career of a nurse "hard".

RN Testing Question
I was wondering, to become an RN do you have to take the TEAs, or the NET??? I heard NET was for only the LPN's? Is that ture? if not, when do you have to take the NET and the TEAS?

Conused about RN's
I want to become an RN with a BSN very badly, but i just have no clue on how to go about to do this. I am currently voulenteering at my moms hopsotal and i really noticed nursing is def. for me. I was wondering, how exaclty do i get started to become a nurse with a BSN? I a currently a junior in HS. Are there colleges that offer "nurse prep classes" or w.e they are called, or do you just have to find out the pre reqs for your nursing school and take those in college? For EX: say my nursing school requires biology anatomy, chem....etc would i just take those courses in college? or do colleges have a "nurse prep course that has all of those courses already included, how does this work? I want my BSN so how will this make it any different. Do you think that my volunteer experiance in my moms hospital will make me have btter chances at getting into a nursing school? ( jus for the record my mom isnt a nurse, sorry if i gave that impression!) but all i want is a step by step guide line on how i can become an RN with my BSN And can you tell me any other activites i can do do better my chances of getting into a nursing school (except volunteer work, because im already doing that!!) Thanks everyone for all of their help!!!
