  1. Sorry one more questions I went to the info. session and ound it helpful but when I asked about working they looked at me like I had 5 heads! When looking at the program even the 2 year yes you are taking 19 credits your first semester but 2 classes are online and 2 days you are totally on cmapus all day so you do have some free time just was wondering if you or other girls worked at least a little bit during school. Thanks again
  2. Thank you! THat is what my bosses were telling me that I tend to put too much on my plate but I always worked full time and went to school full time and did fine so ok yeah I'm focusing on getting the B in A&P I/II this summer at UNH and then apply, I'm looking forward to this info. session to see if I gain more knowledge about the program and weigh all my options. THank you for your advice and Good Luck on your presentation :)
  3. Thank you so much! Your response made me feel a little better. I am attending the information session tonight. I am looking at other schools as well but really am focusin on UNH because I already went to school there and its close to home. I was just getting so nervous that they are going to see I took Anatomy and Microbiology twice and be like "oh she cant handle the program" (maybe not knowing it was 3 points away from the required grade!) Would you mind me asking what the interview process is like and is the program intense, and overall do you feel its prepared you for the future? Again thank you
  4. Hi Everyone, I graduated from UNH in 2007 with a BS degree in Health Management and Policy, when I went to interview I was deemed "unhireable" by many employers and was advised to return to school for my Masters in Nursing to gain the clinical side. Ultimately, I would like to work in the business field but it is true alot of positions most companies want RN's even if it is a business decision. My first pick is the DEMN program at UNH and I have been in contact with them and plan on attending the informational session next week. My fear is that I had to retake Microbiology and Anatomy because I did not recieve a B or better (both by a few points I could have died!) I am taking the summer session A&P bundle at UNH and plan on applying for September 1st. and they will look over my application due to the repeat of classes. My background is I that I have the BS in Health management , have been an LNA for over 5 years and currently work at a local hospital in clinical and business. Does anyone have advice for this program re: their application process, interview, are they really focused on the pre-req and look down on people that had to retake a class (I personnally find it hard to believe people get a B or better in one time) Thank you very much!
  5. Congrats! First I am working on my pre-reqs now and it's hard some schools that I am applying to for a Direct Entry Masters want a B or better and some want more classes etc. I have had to take two classes twice because I missed the B grade by a few points! It is frustrating but knowing that you are making the right decision, people to support you, once you get into a program it will all be worth it and in the end it will be worth it. Good luck~
  6. Oh I have done that too...haha I know I sound like a stalker for this program! I did that after the fall semester if I could meet with an advisor one on one and they said they don't do that because the demand for the program is high.
  7. Thank you I am attending the Information session next wednesday where I am gearing up my ?'s, bringing my resume and unoffical transcripts. I am hoping to leave the information session with a clear understanding if I am a good canidate or not. I contacted the school and their response is always the same to attend an info. session, and that they need a B or better in Pre-reqs. *(No UNH does not require GRE scores neither does Simmons college which is the other college I am looking at in Ma.)
  8. Hi Everyone, This is my first thread but I have to say that I find this site always informative, great resource, and a wonderful online community :) Here is a little background of where my question is headed, and up front I want to thank anyone who responds with information and advice. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Management and Policy in 2007, Since then I have recieved no promising job offers I kept hearing the same thing that "I worked as an LNA through college (still do) and have little business experience so my best route would be to go forward towards a Masters in Nursing". I knew I would accomplish this but I wanted to work for a while first. So this past year I have been completing my pre-reqs for Direct Entry programs for non-nurses who want to recieve a masters. I have Anatomy II left to take which I am taking this summer, UNH requires a grade of B or better in their 4 pre-req classes. Unfortunately I recieved a B- in Microbiology in the fall, took it again this semester and I currently have an A Anatomy: I took in the fall and did horribly, I don't want to make any excuses but the Professor I had has a passing rate of 40% we literally had 10 people left in the class, he did not offer help whatsoever and then had the nerve to tell me that I was ridiculas for taking Microbiology and Anatomy at the same time while working! I just finished Anatomy I again and had a final grade of a B- (80%) AAAhhh I know a grade of a B was 83% 3 points! So, I am taking the Anatomy and Physiolgy I/II summer session bundle at UNH to get my B for their program. If anyone on this board is in the Direct Entry masters of nursing program (DEMN program) At the University of NH or any other graduate school nursing program Do programs really frown upon repeating classing to obtain the Grade that they require? (My background includes a degree in healthcare, I have been an LNA for over 5 years and I work at a local hospital in clinical and business fields ) I am just really nervous they are going to look over my application and see I took 2 classes more than once to Obtain the B grade and pass me over. (my other choices will accept my now provisionally beause I only have chemistry to take for their requirements but I am focused on UNH due to the closeness to home.) Any advice would be very appreciated Thank you so much :)
