Since bed hold status has no relevance to the MDS I felt it should be the day she left the building.

Nursing home bed hold status has no effect on DC assessments per RAI manuel P2-36.

She was paying privately. I thought bedholds did not count according to CMS.She never returned to the facility was given DC instructions verbally.

A resident goes on temp LOA home 12/23. On 1/19 decides not to return. Is it correct to do an unplanned discharge with ARD of 12/23?

If on admission I set and open a 5d for day 8 and resident has an unplanned dc or death can I move the 5d back?

SS Activity Director Dietary and Thearpy all have a section to complete. SS is the worst about getting her section to me in a timely matter. She feels this is not her biggest priority. I enter all the data. We are a 78 bed facility. I have an LPN who helps me with assessments 12hr a week. I also am the case manager. I also cover for the DON and Admissions Coordinator when they are off. I do the raps each dept. is suppossed to be responsible for their own careplans.

We are not a corporation nor do we have a consultant. I have been pleading with Adm to obtain one so far no luck. Thanks for the advice re software setting up a test company.

I did attend a seminar. I plan on attending one more later this month. I got cue cards and interview forms. I need to redo ADL and wound forms and Admission Data base. I need to get policy and procedures written for everything. I also moved all my scheduled Annuals and Quarterlies from Oct to Sept. I also meet with staff briefly before our weekly UR meeting. If anyone has any other suggestions please advise. Thanks

What are some of the things you are doing to prepare your team for 3.0 My administrator and DON expect me to handle it all. I am overwhelmed.

Who is responsible to make sure certifications and recerts are signed? What do you do if they are not signed on time or are missed. Do you have anything in place to monitor this? Thanks

WE do use an ADL tracking form. Therapy does screen upon return from hosp.We do a lot of short term rehab. My promblem is we have several long term residents with a very low CMI . I am having Therapy reeval when they are due for their annual. I am inservicing CNA on documentation. What do you mean by doing books early? I am new to this position. I have only been doing this for 6mo. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks for your response
