hi fellow nurses..!! :) i just have an inquiry.. i want to know if anybody can help me with wanting to get an acls certification, anywhere here in san diego... if anyone can suggest any place, preferably areas near escondido to coronado area... i'm trying to get one.. and i'm also currently searching for rn jobs in a hospital.. i've worked for a year in a skilled nursing facility, but i really really wanna work in a hospital... thanks in advance..!! god bless :)

hi tobby walter, so what do you suggest i'd do, just send that form and the documents like my passport or SSN# card or whatever legal document, plus the fee? are there any other documents needed attached like a cover letter or something? how come they didn't charge you? i really hope they won't too.. my parents aren't really happy about this, since it's not really our mistake to miss letters in our names due to Pearsonvue's computers you know... thanks for letting me know some people have this kinda trouble too.

hi, i wanted to inquire about this.. my rn license got mailed to me today from ca.. it practically should've made me real glad, but when i took my license out, my name's missing one letter.. i applied for nclex and that was how they entered my name on to the testing center, since they said that only limited characters were allowed by their computers in pearsonvue to type in the names, so it would appear like that but it wouldn't really affect my licensing, or my exams, coz i wrote my name right in all my applications, but why did this happen? when i sent the letter for the ssn# to the board, i also wrote my name right.. i know it was stated in the license to inform the board within 30 days for a name change, and i also checked the dca website and it said there that for a name change, i need to fill up the form attached, and also to pay for $30 for another license card.. is this really the only process? or is there any other way to make my name right? --since i had it right actually, and i don't really know why they printed it that way.. is it because they followed the pearsonvue name? (they clearly told me it was just because of their computer's limited characters.) please help me with your information.. thank you!

so you mean i have to go get the ces first before applying in texas? how is it done? will i be doing exams again? any further requirements? i hold a us passport because i'm a citizen due to place of birth, since i was born in san francisco. i haven't been able to file for my ssn# since then, and when i renewed my passport during 2nd yr college, i also haven't been able to apply for an ssn# immediately after that. so basically my nclex application came first even before my ssn# got to me. so how will i get my license then? would that be by the time i get in the us or i can get it while i'm still here? because if i try to get it here, maybe it'll take a while? whew. things are just getting a lot tougher, huh. thanks for your replies on this, i really needed to know how everything is at this point, i don't wanna be clueless on what's going on in the world.

thanks for your replies.. well, i filed for recognition as a filipino here in the country (for the reason that my parents are fil), that's why i was able to take the nle, but i don't think that it's exactly the same as a dual citizenship.. and i do hold a us passport.. btw, pardon me, but what does ces mean? and i have applied for my ssn# already last sept, and it got mailed to me only late last nov, which means that i haven't included it yet on my nclex application since i applied for the exam around june.. i do hope i get a job in ca.. maybe it's just about patience and courage to look for one and be able to get it right during the interviews for me to get hired.. yeah, best of luck to me..

gud day to all! :wink2: i just like to ask for ur opinions, suggestions, and/or recommendations on how i can further prepare b4 going to us early this year.. i'm from the phils., i just graduated last year (2008), i passed the june 2008 nle (local boards), and i took my nclex last dec and still waiting for the results.. i applied for california, and i'd like to know how things work in hospitals in the us, how i can prepare to get hired, and points on discerning whether the employer is a good choice or otherwise.. and what they expect and ask as well for their employees.. i have no problem with regards to my passport because i'm an american citizen, i dont need to take ielts or have a visa, that's why i can go directly to us.. and btw, my relative said she can refer me to a hospital in texas, and they said i can apply there when i get to us.. i know i need to have reciprocity because i applied for california.. can u give me advice with regards to this? thanks and god bless!:)
