  1. I've been in the OR for almost a year now and I'm at the point where I don't know what to do. I thought I liked it but now I'm not sure. I know that I definitely don't like floor nursing but lately I am feeling like I am always stressed out/anxious. I feel like I'm terrible at scrubbing and only okay at circulating. I hate working with some of the surgeons and wonder how they get away with some of the things they do (although there are some wonderful ones too). For those of you that have been in the OR for awhile, did you always like it, or did you also go through a period of not liking it? I don't know how much of my dislike for the OR is just because I'm still sort of new and feel like I'm not good enough at it, or if it's really not for me... I don't want to give up on it if I am just going through a "bad phase". but I also don't know how long I should give it... Sorry if I'm rambling!
  2. I'm a new grad working in the OR and I'm feeling frustrated and kind of "down in the dumps" since starting my job. I really like my job (although overwhelming at times), but the problem is this: I feel like my life is just work, home, eat, shower, sleep, repeat. I feel drained and exhausted at the end of the day and therefore go to bed fairly early every night (on average about 9pm). So my question is this: How do you balance work and life? What is your daily routine on the days you work? any suggestions would be appreciated
