  1. Im a 25 year old male and live in Aiea Hawaii. If you do not know our nursing school situation let me tell you... You can either go baccalaureate or Associate. I chose associate because the community college (kapiolani community college) here offers it and its relatively low tuition compared to University of Hawaii's BSN program. I am extremely dedicated to getting into this program when I apply next fall to get in spring 2010...but I have this cloud of doubt hanging over my head . I really want to be a nurse, thats not the problem...its the amazingly tough competition I have to deal with. I heard something like 250 students apply and only 30-45 get in. You have to have like a 3.8 gpa, and score 126 on the NLN to be considered. Does anyone have a ray of hope for me? Does anyone know any other options I have? It would be extremely hard for my girlfriend and I to just up and move unless we had some major help. I have thought of going to UH, but that means a lot more classes and more time. Any info?
