hi Dee, I totally understand where u are coming from, i have 2 kids, one in pre-k and the other is 2yrs old, hopefully I can get a clinic job and work per diem at a nursing home so I dont loose any skills.

Hey guys, I recently graduated from an LPN program in Long Island New York, and waiting to take my boards now, since LPN's usually arent hired at hospitals in my area, I'll most likely end up working in a nursing home or clinic, i have two small children so i was thinking clinic hours would be best for me since they usually are closed on holidays, and i can get a morning shift and be home with my kids in the evening, but im afraid if I work at a clinic i might not gain as much knowledge as i would at a nursing home, I also heard clinics pay LPN's less than LTC but im not sure, Is it hard to get a 7am-3pm position as a new LPN at a nursing home? and do u guys suggest clinic or LTC?..Thanks in advance for any suggestions..:):)

Veeb requires a high school diploma or Ged to sit for the entrance exam, age doesn't matter as long as u are over 18, the entrance exam consists of math, reading and writing and it's timed, if u look through previous pages on this thread u will see a lot of helpful info about the entrance exam, GoodLuck!

Hey guys, I'm an lpn student in long island NY, and I live in New Hyde Park, I know that it's hard for an lpn to find a job at a hospital, but are there any jobs available for lpn's at clinics???? And what other options do I have besides nursing homes?? Thank you to anyone that can give me some insight..:)

hey nursegurl, when I say strict I mean that they have their rules and they stick to them LOL, they don't accept tardiness, but they are really nice and helpful, they just want everyone to give 100 percent.

It can't be the bridge course people because I'm in the bridge and it starts on Monday, maybe the people that have dropped out found another program that suits them better or cant commit to it in sept..who knows LOL..

Hey joey, I agree with trinionli, u should call them or even go in person if possible and explain your situation to them, try to speak to them as soon as possible so u can get your situation taken cared of..goodluck to u!
