I failed out of nursing school my last semester....help!
I see what you're getting at. I did apply to multiple nursing schools along with the one I BSN I out of now so they still have my old records. They thing you must realize is that I'm not able to transfer any units, all nursing classes I took will be swept out and I will have to start anew when I get into the new program. I still have to talk to a nursing counselor, to see how best to approach this when I talk to him or her.

I failed out of nursing school my last semester....help!
withgodhelp: it's been tough and it has been hard to face up the family and friends that truly believed in me and supported me over the past few years. I still have some old transcripts (before the fail) and plan to submit them to a local ADN program, the passion and desire is still there, but I'm so broken up inside. Some of the people here are recommending going into lpn program first but I'll rather make this a one step process and try it again. Wish me luck, the program I had before had a GPA cutoff point but now I have to deal with a lottery system. Feel free to contact me further if you have questions.

I failed out of nursing school my last semester....help!
Damn, I know the feeling of failure so well. During a clinical session I made a mistake (no one was hurt), got good mid-term evals and thought it was a sure shot at the time. It was bad day knew I should have taken the day off, and not have tried to wing it. I have no one to blame but myself, but it still sucks. The money and time lost (I wouldn't say completely because I've learned a lot). Trying now to just complete my degree at a local community college. The transfer of credit is not possible for me, because it requires you to be in good standing with no failures. What I was told while I was in the program was that after the 4th semester in the RN program you could take the test for lvn, so maybe you can too.

CCSF, Evergreen
Is anyone here applying or have got into the nursing program at City College of San Francisco, all of the community colleges I've been looking at have lottery systems and it's so nerve racking. I'm submitting my application sometime in January 2009 and wondering if anyone knows the odds. Another college I've been looking at is Evergreen in San Jose, their application period in Fall of 2009, and during one of the workshops they mentioned that the odds were close to 50% for those eligible (most of the applications don't meet the minimum requirements), they have a separate lottery for those with a gpa of 3.7 and more and entry is close to guaranteed but unfortunately I'm not at that level. The different requirements at different colleges limits my options, for example De Anza in San jose requires a certain amount of units to be taken at their campus.
