I am looking into NP programs and the one I am interested in has ANP and ACNP, but I cannot combine (follow ANP with ACNP subset, for example) as was mentioned to me by another NP. I am interested in Cardiology/CT surgery and have worked as an RN in this field for 8 years( CTICU, Cath Lab). Which is the best path to take? I see myself primarily in the hospital, but may want to venture outside the hospital setting. An NP that I work with in CT surgery is an ANP and feels I don't need the ACNP. I just wanted other opinions from a marketability perspective-if I decided to not work in the hospital. Would the ACNP or ANP limit me? Sorry if this is confusing. Also, if I decide to go for my ANP, could I eventually specialize post master's to ACNP, for example. Thanks in advance. :redbeathe
