  1. is getting a nursing degree (bsn) a hard task? when i go to college to get my bachelors, will i have to study and read alot? will there be time for partying and a social life?
  2. with many people being layed off these days and even lawyers!! i have been hearing that a career in health care is safe. therefore, are people in healthcare being layed off of work? especially nurse anesthetists? i'm still in highschool and still have a long way to go but is the future for nurse anesthesits good? i don't want to do all the hard work and then everything going down the drain.
  3. we all know that nurse anesthesists make a lot of money. usually, one would spend all the money on clothes to wear to work and expensive accessories but dont na's have to wear the required scrubs? so what do na's usually spend all the extra money on? are there any events in the job that require wearing nice clothes?
  4. haha your gonna have to wait 10 years for that! thanks and you too!
  5. yeah i just wanted to knwo what they wear.
  6. honestly, i think you are looking at dollar signs only and don't even know what being a crna entails. i can assure you i make nowhere near what brangelina make, and am so busy with work that i don't have time to travel around the world helping people. this is an intense job, one that i worked very hard to get to. it's not something you try to do quickly to make a lot of money. there is a ton of responsibility. i actually have been reasearching a lot but i guess it hasn't gotten to me yet because i'm not really hands-on with it. and yes, i will honestly say that the money part did intrigue me into going into the nurse anesthesia route. i do donate to my favorite charities and several of my coworkers go on mission trips, so there are still ways to help people. what are mission trips? i suggest reading the stickies at the top of the forum and searching the forums to learn what a crna does and how to become one. then, when you've educated yourself a little more, shadow a crna to see if this is what you really want. will do! a few other options are to win the lottery or become a famous actress.
  7. is the typical attire for a nurse anesthetist a plain colored shirt, pants, and a shower cap? lol is that what nurse anesthetists wear everyday to work? are there any days in which you could wear nice normal clothes to work? i don't really mind wearing the assigned attire but i was just wondering
  8. can anyone please respond?
  9. Hello guys, I 'm in highschool right now and I'm thinking of becoming a nurse anesthetist. I'm going to go to college somewhere here in the Midwest. When I grow up, I really want to help the needy. I want to donate money to charities and travel around the world and help the sick/poor/disabled. I kind of want to do what Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are doing. Will becoming a nurse anesthetist help me in doing this? If not, what other career options? I really want a good starting salary and not as many years in school (max would be 7-8 years including undergrad). On a side note, what are some abilities one must have to become a nurse anesthetist? Thanks! =)
