  1. Changing Careers

    slfulmer posted a topic in First Year After Licensure
    I am currently a high school English teacher and becoming very burned out. Before I became a teacher, I had thought about going to nursing school. Well, I think now is the time for a career change. I am not sure how to go about this. My first thought was to enroll in an LVN program and become certified, then move on to an RN program. From the research I have done, it seems that it takes a year to get the LVN certification. I would need to do this part-time and keep my current teaching job. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I live in the Dallas area.
