  1. Hey there Jess- I reallly cannot help you specifically but I bet you will get alot of answers at that open house. Another idea is to get on the web site for the Board of Nursing in your area (you can just put it in your "search" if you don't the name for sure) and email someone from that site. I have gotten help from people at the Georgia Board of Nursing as well as North Carolina. (I now have my LPN licenses in both states) Another idea might be to go to your local hospital and talk to the Director of Nursing there or wherever you are considering working.......they can give you ideas as well. Just don't take information from just one source. Your state Board would be where I go first- that is what I did before I even left Florida as an LPN......it is terrific having a computer (smile). Praying everything goes well for you and don't let anyone get you down. God bless you and yours. in Him, Andrea
  2. I know that one position besides LPN's or RN's working in postpartum is a lactation consultant. I am interested in going into this same area and I have had about 10 yrs experience nursing. Different states may have different names for those positions. Here in South Florida, depending on the hospital, will hire LPN's in postpartum but not in L&D although one hospital I know of here hires LPN's in NICU. Go figure........ God bless you in whatever it is you decide to get into......all I know is, is that when I finally got to that part of my clinical rotation, I had never been happier.........maybe one day we'll be doing the same thing (smile)
