Who is waiting?
When I went to the info session this past fall I think they said something like 150 applicants and they accept like 50. They made it sound like alot of the applications that are denied are incomplete, so if you have everything in and good NLN scores, you should have a good chance. Hope this is helpful.

Picking RN program in NH
Thanks for the advice. That's kind of what I was thinking about Elliott. I have applied to Great Bay, NHTI and Manchester CC and am pretty confident I should be accepted to all. I live in Hampton right now so I really dont want to commute too far but I want to do clinicals at a hospital where I want to work once graduating. How do you like working at Exeter? I would really like to get a job at a hospital around here but only have my FL paramedic license and EMT which doesn't do me much good up here. Good luck with your prerequisites and thanks again!!

UNH Direct Entry
Trying to make a decision on which route to go and curious how competitive it is to get into this program?? The information I received said about 200 apply and 32 are accepted. I graduated with a 3.2 gpa is that enough to get me in the Direct Entry program? Also, what does an MSN set you up for after graduating as opposed to ADN/BSN?? Do you work like any other RN after graduating until you gain experience then to management positions?? Also, I'm interested in getting my NP someday and wondering how the MSN correlates with NP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it best to get BSN as opposed to ADN for second degree?
Thanks for the advice everyone! I can't decide if I want to do anything more advanced then RN, so it's probably best if I just get that under my belt first then decide. My main thing is that I really don't want to incur anymore debt than I already have. Tiffmh I love the cake analogy!

Is it best to get BSN as opposed to ADN for second degree?
Hi, I currently have a Bachelor's Degree and am planning to go back and get my nursing degree. I have only applied to community colleges for my ADN because I don't want to spend the money for the accelerated BSN programs and figure I can get my BSN online or something after becoming an RN. I am wondering if anyone has any advice on if this is a good way to go about it? I know the economy is bad right now and nursing jobs aren't as easy to come by so I'm a little worried not persuing the accelerated BSN might come back to bite me in the but when I graduate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!:wink2:

Setting myself up before RN school for the job I want...Advice please.
Thanks! Yeah, there doesn't appear to be a big shortage here. I'm pretty confident I will get into any of the community colleges here becasue I placed really well on the pre entrance exam and have all the prerequisites. Now I'm just trying to decide where the best place to go is if it's going to help me get the job I want. Thanks!

Setting myself up before RN school for the job I want...Advice please.
Hi everyone, I am planning on starting nursing school this Fall and was curious if anyone has any insight on setting my self up for the job I want. I have just moved to NH and was working as a paramedic in FL beforehand. I would like to work in the ER but don't know a whole lot about the area hospitals not working in the field currently. I am just curious how hard it is to get my first job out of RN school in an ER and if it is beneficial to go the school that uses the hospital I want to work in as a clinical site. Any advice welcomed!! Thanks!
