i just received my nclex results, sadly i failed again. first time i took was january of 08, 75 items did not passed. i gave myself time so i took my second shoot on last week of june of 08, 75 items again and did not passed. i thought third time is a charm so i have done everything. i wake up early take 150 test questions everyday, i worked 5 days a week 8 hours. im already stressed out so i took 8 days of vacations before i took my nclex exam just this month, i answered 200 items and did not passed. i dont know what to feel right now. im in the borderline to having type 2 DM, i gave up exercising just to spend more time studying and reviewing. im planning to relax for now, i try to sleep 8 hours and exercise but i dont know if i still have the courage to take again. my mom and my sister is giving me advice. im already confused because of them. they still want me to take another shot. they want me ta take again on may or june of next year. my mom want me take the NCSBN review and my sister want me to get the new edition of saunders reviewer. im considering my sister's advice because i heard about the suzzane's plan. im still thinking and i dont want to offend my mom. i need ur expert advices. all ur advices will be deeply appreciated. thanks! ^_^

>>i dont blame you for what your feeling right now. it sounds like your exhausted and burned out. the company's that we worked for they dont really care if the nurses and cna's will be burned out thats how business works and besides if we really wanted to keep our job we really have to stick on it and make sacrifices. in the nursing home i worked for, we have LTC and rehab on the same floor. if the census are high sometimes the company gives OT's thats makes us like 6 CNA, 2 RN, sometimes 1 or 2 LPNS. but there are times like we're only 4 cna, 1 rn and 1 lpn. for cna's theyre gonna have like 10 to 12 pts to take care for, the rn and lpn they divide there work based on census. if we're lucky to have good nurses and lpns they do our job too. in my experience nurses and lpn are given the responsibility to do the cna job when things comes to worst like 2 cna are only available. im a cna i worked this job for more than a year now, its really a tough job but what can i do? its not easy to look for another job and for the economy right now, im thankful that i wasnt layed-off. good luck to your career and job hunting.

i finished b.s. in nursing and it never occured into my mind nor in my dreams that being a c.n.a. would be my first career. i got bored studying and reviewing preparing for my nclex so i decided to try as a cna. if your gonna be in a rehab settings, you'll learn alot specially in terms of ortho care and physical therapy. in LTC settings, mostly routine care. you do the same thing over and over again. being a cna first will teach you how to become a good nurse, you can improve your ways of giving direct care to patients, and gives you an different ideas and knowledge for the nclex. another thing about being a cna (before becoming an R.N.) is that you'll learn so many things and your gonna have an idea on how to become a very good nurse and team leader.
