Umm, I think it kinda didn't happen as they planned for our class. They were originally going to accept 60 students. Then, those that declined the offer, they were going to open spots and call the people on the waiting list. However, right now it seems as if we have around 50ish students in our class, so I guess they weren't able to call or fill up spots as they had wished for our class, but it's fine. It is okay so far. We just finished the first week and I am almost finished buying everything I need, but I feel a little behind since I didn't get a notice..but that's okay. I am trying to catch up on my studying.. but its tough. Let me know how your interviews go!!

When is the interview date for you guys?

Those of you that got interview emails, CONGRATSSS!!! You are truly lucky to have gotten this opportunity. If you guys want tips on what questions they will ask, you can read our old forum, "UTMB Summer 2009 Applicants" since we had a lot of people give tips on there. Also, here are some questions I can remember people stated (remember, I did not get an interview so I don't have first hand experience). "Why do you want to attend UTMB, Why do you want to be a nurse, What is your backup plan if you do not get accepted to UTMB, and if you have any questions for them" Always always ask them questions as it tells them how interested you are in their school. Secondly, for those of you that did not get an interview email, hang in there! Many people got letters way letter, and we had 2 people, including myself, that did not get an interview, but were called at the last minute to say that we were accepted. So do not be discouraged, it may happen for you!! If you guys need any other help, let me know!! I am truly happy I made it this far and am happy to help anyone that needs advice! =)

I applied to TWU, UTHSC, HBU and PVAMU. I got accepted to PVAMU and sent them all my information, but since I got a call from UTMB, I chose to go there instead. I need to let them know that I won't be attending. Where all have you applied? It's always good to have a backup plan in case your number school isn't what you get.

lol yeahh, I am not sure why people are not responding on this one. However, I do know that some of the people that replied here have got accepted elsewhere and decided to go there since UTMB is kind of slow after the hurricane. Anyhow, I did not get an interview. They just called me and told me that I was accepted and sent me all the information. It was hectic but hey, I'm not complaining! lol Now comes the hard part, making it through nursing school! (eek!)

I was wondering if the Tmobile G1 will work instead of a PDA or the I-Touch. Does anyone know?

I was reading back and noticed that some people said there are some packages we have to buy directly from the book store. I am just wondering so that I know if I should order them online, or wait to get them from UTMB Book store. Thanks

RocketsSON, I am having some schedule conflicts. Classes for UTMB start on May 4 and I have a final on May 6. Do you know what I should do about that?

Hey Everyone!! I just wanted to let you all know that I got a call from UTMB and they asked me if I still wanted to attend for the Summer! I said yes and they sent me some emails regarding orientation and the PDA. However, I didn't receive anything for Financial Aid. I still need to buy books, the PDA and send out Financial Aid information. I also need to clear my schedule for Friday. I am in a real panic. If anyone could help me out by sending me the information that they received from the school, it would really help. Also, do you guys know if we need the books by orientation? Because I am not sure if that is possible. Thanks so much for all you guys' help!

Anyone hear anything about Fall acceptance?

I would think it would be easier to apply to the Bacc2 Program, but I do not have a Bachelors degree so I am not too sure.

Hey guys, in order to apply for nursing, was it required to turn in a paper copy of the application? Or just fill out the apply 4 it application online? I am not even sure what my 3rd choice of college was. I know I had Cy-Fair, then Tomball. Not sure what I put for my last choice.

I am not sure how true this is, but you might not have to re-take all the classes. Did you call UTMB and ask them? They might accept some of the classes you are currently taking.

Hello guys! I am not getting involved in anything that you guys are saying, but just wanted to share what happened with me today. I went to a clinic to get my TB shot, and the Nurse Practitioner there asked me where I wanted to go. I told her I was very interested in UTMB and she told me that she got her BSN from there and it is a great school. Then she asked me about the process after the hurricane and I told her it became slow and that some people don't find out until about one week before classes. She then proceeded to tell me to stay away from that. She said that if its going slow now, anything might happen and you don't want to jeopardize your education with that. I felt bad after she said that, but I STILL want to go to UTMB! lol Then, I went to my CPR class and met a girl who told me that she got accepted to TWU and she had called and called the people at UTMB to find out if she got in for Fall and they told her to try again and apply for Spring...? I was unsure as to what she was talking about so I asked her and she said basically if I hadn't heard anything yet, I shouldn't expect to and to know that it was bad news. That made me feel even worse. But even after all that, I STILL want to go to UTMB! Am I crazy or what?! lol, I am still hoping and praying...but just thought I would share my experiences with you guys. Congrats to you lucky ones, I hope I get something...but now I feel like I am on the "Def Not" list. -still hanging in there though....-

Thanks guys! That is good to hear. I do wish to keep it a possibility of moving over to UTMB even after starting the program at the other nursing school, but let's see. Thanks for the hope guys! You guys do make me feel a lot better!

Well, as you all know, I did not get an interview for UTMB's Summer Program, so I am hoping for Fall. I did however get accepted for Fall elsewhere, but really really want to go to UTMB. If not, hey, at least I have a back up plan. =( Please pray for me.

I have a question for those of you that received an acceptance email/letter/phone call. What all does UTMB require to have filled out and completed before deadline? The school I got accepted to requires a lot of things, like a full physical, immunization records, TB skin test, drug test and other forms that need to be filled out. I have completed most of it, but was just wondering if it was the same thing for UTMB.

They said to expect to hear something up until the week before classes start
