  1. Hi, My friend asked and they said to report on Wednesday the 8th at 8:30 am. Not sure when it will end...maybe the normal wednesday time. The secretary said she was getting a lot of calls on this, so hopefully they will be sending out a clarification of some sort. Did you get your books and uniforms yet?? I just received the last book in the mail yesterday!! So happy it was not as expensive as they said to prepare for. The man at the uniform store just called me today to let me know my uniforms are in. Now its the BILL,,,This school as been critically slow with the financial aid. I filed in march, and had all my paperwork that they wanted copies of in April--(way before Apr 15th FAFSA deadline), and yet they still have not reviewed anything!! They actually told me to go down there two days before the bill is due!! I am a little stressed about that! Do you already go to MCC? Hope this clears some info up...Feel free to ask me any questions, I feel like I practically live at that school!! LOL! JEN
  2. Hey, Congrats!! Glad you brought this up! I asked my friend about it too, who has also been accepted and she thought she was starting tuesday, but had wednesday marked on her calender. She is going to check with the nursing secretary when she goes to her summer class tomorrow. I will update you when we know the answer. Now I am confused too, I thought I was starting on wednesday, since it is the 8th. ???? We shall see.
  3. Hi Jr6368, I know that the Massasoit's evening program (3 yrs) will be open again next fall. I know that quincy college has a program that is evening that starts in January (2.5 years). I am not sure how the process will work next year with the massasoit day/vs/eve. I have been told by some that there may not be a choice of which you get into. Maybe you can have a preference, but they could still say you were not accepted to evening, but were accepted for days or vice verce. With Quincy they have an entrance exam that they give three times a week (25 or 30$) You can take it as many times as you "need to", but have to wait a month in between I think. The earliest you can apply for January is July to Quincy. They do require Chemistry along with the A&P's as pre-reqs. They have to be within 5 years too. Brockton hospital school of nursing has an evening 3yr program too, taking apps in November for next fall admission. Hope that helps.
  4. Hi Soxfan19, Congratulations!! Nice to finally hear from someone!! Lots of views to this post! A friend of mine got in as well! Have you received any info about an orientation date??
  5. Hi, Just wanted to start a thread to meet others that were accepted to Massasoit's Nursing program for this Fall 2010!! I already know one other person and a few that are waitlisted, so this would a good opportunity to get to know eachother. I already attend massasoit, so if anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer!
  6. Okay...just to settle the waitlist anxiety...I know quite a few people that made it in off the waitlist. Don't lose faith yet! I also know a few students that applied to Massasoit that were already accepted elsewhere and have decided to go to the other school. Your chances may be better than you think. Just be ready to go at a minutes notice!! The Dean of nursing told me there was about 15-20 on the waitlist. Not too many. So happy we both got in livedaisy, good to know someone in the class already! Funny how things turn out!
  7. thank you so much....make sure you let us know when you get the letter, now you all know it will be thin either way, so doesn't matter if you wait!
  8. I did it guys...I GOT IN!!!!! :yeah: I can't believe it ...YAY!!!! Thanks for all the support and fingers crossed for everyone else!
  9. I was right about the date though! LOL! I can laugh now, I haven't opened it yet.....
  10. Okay Adorism, I have to ask what size was your letter, thick, thin? I just got mine and it is thin. My rejection last was thin. I am too anxious to open mine. I would settle at this point for a wait list. I know a few people that got in off the wait list, don't worry too much. I think they can call you up until the day of classes though so be prepared. I can't believe the letter is so thin....I am so upset! Does anyone know if there is a difference in thickness vs. acceptance-rejection??? Please help:eek:
  11. I was at school today, and it seems to be true...letters aren't going to be mailed until the end of the week. I guess they are accepting 60 this year. I also heard they got over 600 applications!! Not sure how many get wait-listed though, pretty sure quite a few, just in case the ones accepted decline to make sure they can still fill the seats. I will definately pray for you livedaisy! Hope to hear before May, but only if its good news, LOL...
  12. :confused:Seriously, they haven't even mailed them yet!! So disorganized...Sounds like they don't even know what day they are going to mail them out?! May be looking at later than the 29th after all...:grn: Today in the mail I only got a Church pamphlet...I guess that means I should pray!
  13. I think I got that one too!! Too funny:lol2:! I also got one for Curry, Umass, Mass General summer session (talk about expensive!), Quincy's catolog for summer courses! Not all in one day of course! I hope that those were not signs! keeping my fingers crossed, but when the letter does come, I almost don't want to know-anyone else feel the same???? It will be so Final.....
  14. It is going to be a very anxiety filled week, waiting for this letter...semester coming to an end...looking for a new job...trying to stay focused here, or not too focused! I have been getting a lot of different fliers too for various other programs and schools! I just don't know what I am going to do if this does not happen this fall...
  15. Nothing today, the anniversary of last year's letters-26th! They are later than last year. Is this good or bad???
  16. Well, The 26th is here, the mail has been delivered. Nothing from Massasoit. I almost didn't want to check...I have a good feeling about the 29th still, anyone want to guess when they will arrive? Has anyone else checked the mail?? This is going to be a long week!!
  17. You are not alone, I have it all riding on MCC too! I feel your pain!
  18. Good luck,,,Wish there was room for all of us!!! Did you apply anywhere else?
  19. I agree, assume the answer is yes and have everything ready to go if you could potetially have a scholorship! could you not send it in just in case you got in?? Or does it have to be accompanied by an acceptance letter? If you could send it now, I would. Last year the date was April 26th. I don't know why, but I keep thinking the 29th, I hope it isn't that late...but I have a feeling. Let's see if I am right. We should get a pool going! LOL!
  20. That is so funny that you mentioned how unfriendly Umass was!! I had the exact same experience. I thought it was just me, good to know it was not! Maybe it was a good thing I was not accepted into the nursing program there. You are right about Massasoit, they are very friendly there. I feel like I should have a Phd from there LOL!! I seem to know a lot of people there from all the time I have spent there! Hopefully they will just look at our science grades and essays. since they are not doing interviews. I wish they would interview like they do for rad tech. My fingers are crossed for us! If it doesn't happen, we can think of a plan B together! I know a lot of people who applied this year, I hope all of us get it, we will all make wonderful nurses!
  21. i will....call me! I have to see that baby! I hope we both get in!
  22. Hi, I have a lot of credits from attending Massasoit previously for an associates degree in science, Respiratory care. I do work in the field, as a respiratory therapist, per-diem not so I could concentrate on school. I have two children, and small world--am also prior military, Army!! I know they have made their decisions, I think they met last Monday (the Nursing committee) to look at the applications that admissions was done with. Someone that is in the program currently told me that. So like you said, those letters just have to make their way to us. I have over 100 credits and it really is difficult to budge the gpa even with A's isn't it?? I didn't even have bad grades before. Throw in a couple of C's from the 90's and you are forever scorned! LOL! I was actually a part of that discussion last year and made a friend online here that got into the program and is in her first year. The letter arrived April 26th! Denial letter. I am surprised with over 130 views of this post that more people don't reply! I am not too sure about Quincy's program, I know it is more expensive than Mass. but it may offer an opportunity rather than waiting until next September. I wish I had my Bachelors, I would definitely try for the accelerated programs if I did. I also applied to undergrad U-mass, but did not get accepted. I do believe, even though the accelerated programs are expensive they are competitive as well. -- time will tell....
  23. Hi, I feel EXACTLY the same way! I have everything riding on this decision and honestly I really have no Idea one way or the other. I did what I had to on the TEAS, what they required. I was trying to hurry for time and made some poor guestimates in that I am sure I could have done better at, but last year they were very much concerned with how fast you took the test. this year it was not the case, I wish I took my time for those "weird" problems. I am sure you know what I mean if you took it! LOL! I had to retake my science courses since they were too old, and I got all A's. What could potentially hurt me is that I have SOOO many credits it is nearly impossible to achieve that 4.0 cumulative. however, I do have it for the science area. We will see, time will tell...What do you have in mind for your plan B?? I heard quincy has a 2.5 year part time that accepts in the spring (jan.). thanks for responding, nice to feel not so alone....
  24. Hi, just wanting to know if anyone else out there is waiting to hear from Massasoit?? I happen to know they said it would take a couple more weeks, which would take us to the end of April to receive the letters! Driving me crazy waiting......Trying to stay busy with the classes I am taking now, but it is so distracting!
  25. Hello everyone, Just waiting for these next long two weeks to go by so I can find out if I got in to the nursing program at Massasoit!! I know there are tons of others out there waiting with me! I figured we could wait and be supportive together. I know for a fact that the letters are not going out until the middle of april, so we have a bit of a wait. The letters last year did not go out until the 26th. Wishing everyone the best of luck!!!
