Nothing is impossible with GOD! my Nclex experience
thanks for the comments everyone! For all those who are private messaging me and those who are asking about my strategies in studying, im sorry if I cannot reply to each one of you but I just decided to put it in one writing for your perusal: 1. I decided not to enroll in expensive reviews but instead took the NCSBN online review for 8 weeks and then resting for 1 month, taking again the online course for 3 weeks before I took the exam. Take note of the additional sources especially the CDC infection control guidelines, I think this really helps. So download a guide and be sure to familiarize this. 2. When it comes to books, I heard good reviews about Saunders even before in my nursing school years,so I bought and read it in my country's local board review and basically read it every now and then during the NCLEX review but I did not place my focus on it this time, because I know I had mostly read it before.I wasn't also able to read the book even before by cover to cover but just the main facts. But if you still have the time, I advice you to do so. I also read Kaplan's NCLEX RN strategies for the licensing exam once and I find the strategies useful. I also browse through bookstores, and came across the book "NCLEX RN for the dummies". I found it very easy to read and it also has great tips, and most importantly it convinces you that NCLEX is really not that scary. I also read Prioritization and Delegation by Linda La Charity, which I find also very helpful, especially in prio questions.I read the book twice and answered all the questions. I find it hard but it was worth it.3. With regards to CDs I had a review cd that came with my saunders book but I did not focus on it this time, but a friend of mine gave me new saunders cd, a latest one about strategies, but sorry I forget the complete name,i might ask her again sometime. This also helped me, as I practice at least 100 questions a day. I also had a cd on CCRN review by Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio, which i find is a very dynamic speaker and she discussed the topics well. I also have FEUER audio discussions which I listened to during breaktimes and found very informative, problem was, it always made me sleep:chuckle I also read a portion of NCLEX Rn 3500, just the alternate questions and it was also very informative but I did not get the same type of questions in the exam, all in all it was good to practice:)I basically studied longer periods of time, like I wake up 7:30 in the morning and eat then start my studying by reading the bible and writing a verse everyday, then praying, then studying. I make it a point to study at least 7 hours a day, monday-friday. On weekends I just go out and go to church. So, I think that's all my resources ,but what was important was that I prayed most of this times, so I know I can't guarantee you a passing score by doing all this things that I did, but what I can only guarantee you is that PRAYERS MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!

Nothing is impossible with GOD! my Nclex experience
Hi Nivag1106, Thank you and Im so glad that you were inspired with my story:D, since one of the purposes of this comment is to uplift future NCLEX takers. I would like to encourage you further by saying that foreign nurses can really do it if we will just place our trust in God and never give up. We were known for our perseverance and determination because we came from a third world country and with all the many crisis and troubles coming into us, we have been trained even at a very young age to fight. THis is why I belive in the capabililities of a foreign RN, though we were not trained in the US but if you have finished four year nursing, sit the local boards, and most of all HAVE FAITH even just as little as a mustard seed then I know we can all make it! Its just a matter of not losing our focus, remembering our ultimate helper,GOD, and remembering what is at stake. In the near future as we start working in the US let us not then dissapoint our families, our countrymen and most of all GOd as we show to the world what great example we can be to our younger gen. and ultimately make a difference!Go future RNS!:)

Nothing is impossible with GOD! my Nclex experience
hi kloie2:) Thank you. Actually I just took the NCSBN online review for 8 weeks and then for 3 weeks. I also have books like NCLEX for the dummies, and I highly recommend Prioritization and Delegation by Linda La Charity. The NCLEX questions resembles hers, even harder:) So God bless on your plans, never forget to pray its the ultimate secret:)

Nothing is impossible with GOD! my Nclex experience
Hi, i am a foreign graduate nurse who is currently in USA. I just finish taking my NCLEX for the FIRST TIME last dec. 2 and this morning I just received an unofficial result from Pearson Vue telling me that I have passed! Wow, God is really good, He answered my prayers. I decided to make a comment on this forum for the first time for two good reasons: 1) I wanna thank the people behind this forum cause it surely did helped me all throughout my great ordeal as I was studying for the Nclex. There were times when I felt so tired that I just wanted to be lazy and lie down for the rest of the day but I forced myself to check out the latest comments in Allnurses.com and I read the many inspirational and some discouraging comments about the Nclex that made me energize and get back to my studying again:yeah: 2) I wanna share and encourage the other NClex takers who have failed or are first time takers to never give up and to tell you my only secret for passing was in PRAYING MORE THAN STUDYING! I know some won't agree with me but prayer is really powerful, it worked for me and I know it will work for you too. With the coverage of nursing, I know there is no way that I will be able to retain or memorize everything that I have studied, this is the reason why I just gave and offered my prayers more than studying. But don't misunderstand me, I still studied but there were times when I can't go on that I just prayed and prayed. The night before I took the exam, even when I was resolved to have faith, I still got afraid and wasn't able to sleep that much ( which worries me because I have to have 8 hours of sleep the night before). Then I came to the testing center 30 minutes before my time but the people inside didn't let us in until after 15 minutes. Boy, you can just imagine the coldness of the winter wind slapping your face as you try to hold on to the many nursing datas that you had stored in your mind! lol. Then I get to sit down for the real test, I prayed again before touching anything from my keyboard. It took less time with all the tutorial because I read it beforehand in one of my preparation days. So off I went, I had a musculoskeletal question and I think I had it wrong because the next question was kinda very easy... and then I move on to the next questions until i noticed the time i had spent and whew! I had answered 17 questions for 1 hour and a half !:specs:but it didn't bothered me that much because I know I can beat the time and stop at 75 if I can answer correctly the first 75 questions in the exam, and so I took the time. I was praying for every question that all the more lengthen the consumption of my time, but again I wasn't worried, I know a miracle will happen and I know I had to take my time. Then I was in question 74th and i had a feeling that the computer will shut down at 75, and so i prayed longer this time, as I look at the clock it says 3 hours have I spent for all these 75 questions, and as a I click next after i answered 75, true my feelings, the computer shut down, signalling me that it was all over. I know deep inside my heart that the Lord intervened for me.I was so amazed that all the questions I got were easy questions! ( Of course Im not trying to brag because I know it was the Lord's divine intervention, for I am nothing without Him) I felt peace of mind and a joy that I know I had made my best and the Lord will then do the rest. I walk out of the t.center with a satisfied feeling...After three days I had the result and it says I HAVE PASSED. I can't contain my happiness, everybody was happy for me and I was pretty sure I had the hands of God all through out that experience. So I am writing now to all of you, a testimony of how good it is to trust God in every area of your life. I know a lot of people have passed the nclex but one thing I know Victory is much more sweeter and satisfying as you obtain it by trusting the Lord!:heartbeat
