I have heard of this program from a friend of mine who practices as a crna in WV. He said they approached him to be one of the clinical instructors for the students. From what he says, the students get the majority (if not all) of their instruction via online courses, and have to set up their own clinical times with designated crna's in the region.... don't know if I would personally spend my tuition on this school, but may work for other people.. we will see how it turns out.

I took the same class through Weber State.... got an A- (which I was surprised as anyone). I would go that way. They tell you exactly what you need to know to do well in the class. Since you are going to finish the one you are in, a B doesn't look bad especially when you have done so well in your previous science classes-- get the B! good luck.

Good luck to you!!! I am not trying to imply that CAMC is the only school with a good program.... there are many, I hope you didn't feel I was bashing on anyone. For me, CAMC was the best choice. I am not even from WV, from UT where we have no choice but to leave the state for anesthesia school. The one thing I wish was different was that it were front loaded, but that was not a big influence on my decision. I would much rather stay in my home state if they had a program, and it was a good one. I don't blame you for leaning the other way. good luck.

You have to start with the fafsa on the web... most financial aid offices won't even start anything until you have that.... you can get some private loans, too i.e. sallie may sig loans, bank one has a good one, etc.... find out how much you will need to pay tuition and living expenses (is your wife working, or like me, is kids enough work?) good luck

I was accepted to three schools including CAMC and chose CAMC for several reasons. One was the unique degree they offer. Other reasons were the diverse clinical experiences you get.... regional, general, etc.. not to mention they have the second largest heart program in the country (lots of open heart clinicals). The people there were awesome, and the staff had been there for a long time. Everything you will have to do as far as school is concerned is all within about four miles of each other... several hospitals, outpatient centers, and class. I start in may, so I can only speak for what appealed to me on the outside, but I have spoken with several students and they love it there. good luck on your decision. I know it was tough for me.

I got in to CAMC in WV. I work at a level one trauma center out here in Utah. I have been there for almost three years. We don't have a crna program available to us here, so I had to apply out of state. I really don't know much about the LA area except for that program. Sorry I can't be much help as far as that goes. As far as calling the program, I have always felt that getting your name seeded into someone's head can't be a bad thing. I don't know why they would be annoyed by you asking how to better yourself to get into their program (they should be flattered). So go for it. good luck again.

I have a friend in the program this year (actually one second year friend, and two first year). Anyway, they said there were over 400 applications this year for 35 spots. However, 10 spots are already filled from last years applicant pool, so this leaves only 25 available spots. I received an invitation to interview, but have declined because I have been accepted at another school, and the odds don't sound so good for getting in to Kaiser. Lots of travel involved with the clinical sites at their program anyway. good luck.

Hi! In response to your question about CAMC's program. I am accepted to start this May. I felt like they mostly concentrated on GPA and GRE. The interview was very relaxed and nothing to worry about.... some general questions that anyone who has worked critical care should know, and get-to-know you questions. I work in a large hospital in SICU, and have for about three years. I don't know how much that played into getting accepted. you can pm me if you need more detail.
