  1. Congratulations, ast8! I sent my deposit in this morning - I am so excited about this program! I look forward to meeting everyone at orientation in October. Good luck to those finishing up pre-requisites - if anyone is taking A&P at Truman College this fall, let me know. I also want to say a HUGE thank-you to everyone who posted information on this thread over the last few months. The application process was so stressful, but I found it really helpful to share (and vent) my anxiety with other applicants. I really appreciate everyone out there who did their best to keep other applicants informed of what was going on - thanks so much!
  2. I just got an email from Chris Ocampo - I'm in!! This is so exciting!
  3. Claredom, Did Chris Ocampo email you about the $100 enrollment fee being due on May 13? If so, when? I still haven't heard anything about a final decision and I was wondering if he is back in the office this week. If I get in, I'll be taking A&P at Truman College, up in Buena Park.
  4. ast8, have you heard anything from UIC yet? I thought for sure we'd hear something today since applicants to the other two departments were notified last week!
  5. For those of you who haven't heard about your GEP application yet, it looks like Chris Ocampo is out of the office today so we may have to wait until Monday before we hear from him. I just got an "out of office" reply from him saying that he's at a conference all day. Another weekend of waiting ...
  6. Claredom, what specialty did you apply to?
  7. It seems like everyone is getting final decisions but me! Weezbug, I'm sorry that you didn't get into acute care, do you have another school you're going to instead? Thanks for posting, by the way - I wonder why they've sent out some emails to the adult/geriatric/acute care folks but not all? Has anyone else who applied to those specialties heard anything?!? The waiting is going to drive me crazy!
  8. Congrats aspiring.midwife! Was it only the midwifery specialty that heard about final decisions today? Did anyone else who applied to a specialty other than midwifery receive an email decision from Chris Ocampo?
  9. rnewhouse1, You're going to Marquette, right? It's a great school and Milwaukee is not too far away!!
  10. Oh no! rnewhouse1, I'm so sorry!! Did Chris Ocampo email you today? I know it won't make you feel totally better, but just remember that you applied to one of the most competitive specialities in a very competitive program. Again, I'm really, really sorry and thanks for posting the news so the rest of us have a heads up that decisions should be coming soon.
  11. You know, I assumed that he sent the email to everyone, but since you didn't get one maybe he just sent it to the GEP candidates applying to the BHS deparmtent (adult/geriatric/acute care). I think he did a BCC to all the recipients of the email so I can't tell how many people he sent it to. For those out there who did receive the email, can you tell kanturk what specialty you applied to?
  12. Chris Ocampo sent out an email this morning that says: "Good morning everyone, The final decisions for the GEP program will be made soon. All interviews are completed and are under final graduate committee review. I will notify you through email as soon as I have the decisions from the committee. My goal is to have the committee vote on them by the end of the week. Thank you. As always, you can email me with any questions. -Chris" I hope that means we will hear something next week! I too am anxiously waiting - good luck everyone!!
  13. I think that's right - at my interview, they said that Chris Ocampo would email us.
  14. Hi icechick, Did you apply to the UIC graduate entry program? If so, what specialty did you apply to? I hadn't realized they were already sending out waitlist decisions. I just interviewed for the adult/geriatric specialty and they told us we probably wouldn't hear anything final until May. Thanks for the info!
  15. I interviewed for the adult/geriatric specialty on Monday and the faculty members in my interview said that Chris Ocampo would be contacting us with a final decision sometime during the first week of May. I think he will send out the final decisions for all specialties at the same time, but I don't know that for sure. Good luck everyone!
