  1. Good morning it's grad school. They won't spoon feed you ( no offense). It's tough. No NP school is easy. At least none that are good. I did not feel unsupported by my professors. There were a few who you can tell cared more than others. and when I say cared, they just were a little more kind and thoughtful somewhere a little strict and more rigid, but nonetheless, the syllabus is the syllabus. The assignments are the assignments and it's on you to complete these assignments. My best advice is to meet members of your cohort and do study groups learn how to network and if you have a lot going on in your personal life think about whether this is the right time for you to go in. Like I said it's not an easy school. I did work full-time while I went to Utica with a young school-age child. It was difficult but if you have a lot going on in your personal life two or three jobs, you're taking care of the entire family they rely on you. This may not be the best program for anyone you have to be focused in nurse practitioner school it is not for the faint of heart and not to scare anyone off, but it is very also doable. There are many people who graduated right along with me started with me ended with me there are a few that dropped out because they either couldn't make the grades or they just lacked on clinical hours when it comes down to the clinical sites they have developed so much of a network within New York and the tri-state Borroughs especially upstate where the school is located that I do not see at all anyone being able to really have a problem. If you have a good networking system, you just work with people who are in cohorts that started before you. I recommend the school to anyone looking for an NP school. They are fair you learn, which is most important you don't wanna go to the bedside and kill somebody because you don't know what you're doing because you went to an easy NP school that just pushed you through they're fair and it's doable
  2. Hi Jessica I graduated in 2022 but I would be happy to answer any questions you have. You can PM me
  3. Hey ladies good morning.. the final is and should be as stated in the syllabus cumulative from the midterm to week 8/16, whatever applies. I would definitely reach out to your coordinator of the session you are in, I believe it’s Dr C if you are getting misinformed information. That does not seem accurate at all and has never been done at Utica. I’m taking my finals for 625 as well, and it’s from midterm on. Don’t panic; just know you always have a chain of command and reach out for clarification. I am almost 100% certain whoever told you that is wrong. plus you need to focus on the test content so this is very important. Email Dr Ceccucci if she is still in charge of 622, if not then reach out to Dr Yingling. These two ladies will have the correct info
  4. I know it’s a lot. But honestly some of the questions are based off the get you thinking. If you have Leik which is a FNP prep book, it helps by reading the section you are studying e.g meds, heart failure, rashes etc.. it helps to know the first line treatment and also the distinguishing factors. Some questions are very tricky and I must emphasize.. invest in Quizlet Plus. Focus on the questions. They are pulled from Fitzgerald as well as Dunphy Hi Jen, It’s a lot but it is important.. look at the message I sent to Mrs Clarex. It sums it up there
  5. Do the “get you thinking” for the week of finals and review all the PowerPoint from the midterm on. Also do practice questions on Quizlet
  6. Hi, yes we are graduating in May 2022! It is definitely a do-able program. It is not easy, requires a lot of time to read and attend sync sessions which is zoom sessions with your professor. The exams are not horrible, they are proctored with Examity and the weekly quizzes are not, they are closed book, honesty quizzes. I have no regrets about choosing this school. The professors are almost all with PhD’s and the graduate level work is expected.
  7. Workload depends on you and if you can manage 2 classes. I did one class every 8 weeks and I work full time and have a busy family life and managed to maintain my good grades. I also live in NYC. You have to find your own clinical sites unless you go to one we have already established contracts with.
  8. There are mandatory in person classes called synchronous sessions that are held via zoom and you must be present for your scheduled time or you write a 5 page paper. I am starting clinicals Monday and I’ve had about 4-5 classes with mandatory sync sessions. Still waiting for accreditation
  9. I did check it out.. when we did our Immersion Weekend virtually, we had this big bang meeting with Dr. Rogers that said a bunch on nothing really. Bottom line.. we are still waiting. Good news is that Cohort II, my cohort and a few others on this thread, are starting clinicals. We really wanted to know by now what we are dealing with before we invest time into clinicals..
  10. Patiently waiting for this accreditation results!
  11. Girl, we are ALL WAITING to hear from them! No word yet. I will call the school today. good job with your first class! You are on the road to success ?
  12. Honestly I don’t remember. Maybe you should call the school and ask them. It’s been over a year, I don’t really remember the admission process details
  13. No specific limits from what I remember, it was like a year ago so I don’t really remember much except the essay. In regards to the clinical sites, they are working on approved clinical sites, depends where you live, but 9 times out of 10, you are responsible for securing your own site and they help with establishing a contract.
  14. Hi I thought the application process was pretty easy. Have you applied yet? Hi I’m wrapping up Stats now, took Breittholz and she’s good. Just be ready with you APA cause she is serious about it!
  15. Hi there.. so far it’s manageable, but it really depends on your stress level in your family life and work life. If you feel like you are overwhelmed already due to the COVID, don’t ruin your academic record trying to do too much at once. Professors are understanding to a degree but we still are responsible for handing in our assignments on time. There were no real passes given to us cause if COVID honestly
  16. Hi MrsClarex, how are you coming along? Ready to start?? A few of us are in and rocking!
  17. Hi Star, thanks for responding! A few of us are starting tomorrow. We are seeing that that some of the assignments require video posts, and exams given by examsoft. How has it been for you? Is this schools classes or tests web monitored?
  18. Hi and the college is supposed to be open tomorrow I believe?
