  1. Well Brother and Sisters, I started my quest to be apart of something that was bigger than myself August 20, 2008 when I contacted my AMEDD Recruiter. I had some issues like being overweight and didnt tape good, my credit, and an arrest record from my ex-spouse and no convictions, in fact I am also a part time sworn police officer. Friday 04/01/09 I met with my recruiter to finish my packet I taped good and my physical has been good to go since February 01, 2009. My recruiter thought that I would need a moral waiver because of my criminal record and although there were never any convictions and I explained everything in detail he still tried to get a waiver. I waited 2 months for this waiver and then the Battalion Lawyer said that since I didnt have any convictions I didnt need a waiver. I met and finished my packet on Friday 05/01/09 and then monday 05/04/09 my recruiter called and said that someone he spoke to someone at APMC to get my slot and he informed him that with my record of incidents with my ex-spouse that my recruiter was wasteing his time with my packet he said I wouldnt get commissioned. My thing is I know the Army is takeing people who have felonies on their record, yes I have had some issues with my ex-spouse but they were all ficticous and my references would verify that along with court transcripts. my references are mostly police officers and like I said earlier I am a RN and a sworn police officer. Does the Army Reserve all ready have their quota for RN's or what? So my dream will become just that a dream. Thanks for all your help during this journey and God Bless
  2. Just a little thought on my situation. As in an earlier post I asked if sucky credit will keep you from being commissioned. Thanks for all the replies. I finally sent all my stuff in and was working with my recruiter to clearify some things about my credit history. After he saw everything that my ex-wife had done his tone shifted from optimistic to stand off-ish. I reminded him that I did in fact disclosed all of that initally. I have done some research as to if you are denied a security clearance and the steps to arbitrate the findings. I have found many people who have done that will worse debt history than me and they were eventually awarded a security clearance. I emailed my recruiter and copied all I found to him and now its been a over a week and still no response from him. Coming from a law enforcement background prior to nursing school I am fairly good at reading people. My recruiter went from answering his phone and emails to not returning calls or emails, after he saw my credit history. I informed him that my ex-wife was responsible for my attrocities and explained in detail every thing. I finally got a hold of him and told him if he wanted to give up on me I would understand, he responded my saying he was in it to the end as long as I was. I confirmed my intentions, but since then no word. Should I give up? Am I gonna have to pay for my past with my future. Will my ex-wife win? and will the govt allow this? Motivational help please. anyone
  3. Thank You for your reply. I have already submitted all my paperwork to my recruiter and yes I am going Army Reserve.
  4. Good Evening: I took my eye and med physical today. The eye doctor said eyes were great and no problems found. The med doctor said the only thing he found was the hearing test were Imy numbers were a little off in the higher frequencies, he went on to say he didnt think they would have a problem with it. My question to my fellow dedicated colleagues is. When can I expect to hear something formal from DODMERB and subsequently my recruiter about comission board. Will I have to appear at the comissioning board or do they only look at all the information and make a descision. Thanks for all your help ......
  5. I dont know about the forms for that I know my recruiter emailed me the link and password for the DODMERB site, I then went on line and filled out the questionare then the site gave me a physician and eye doctor close to home to call and schedule the physical and eye exam. I go the end of this month and with any luck I will have that past me and on to the actual board.
  6. Hey alll my fellow nurses who really care enough to take care out our countries heros. I am scheduled to take a DODMERB physical, has anyone any input as to what the doc will look for or ask. I heard it is different than the MEPS physical but I would like any info from my fellow people. Thanks
  7. So can you still be comissoned in the Army Reserves as a RN without obtaining a security clearance?
  8. How much does your credit report have to do will getting a commission in the Army Reserve. Most of the negative things are due to drop off in a year or so. Any information would be greatly appreciated Thanks
