Military Challenging the Boards
Thanks thorn. Ive been looking into excelsior. However, I do not think that the RN boards here in California accept them. I wish they did. I have heard so many great things about them. I tried to call excelsior about a year and a half ago. They told me California will not accept thier credentials. I wonder if theres a way I could take them and just do clinicals, nclex, and then practice in another state. Ill have to call them and find out. Maybe they have been accepted by california. However, when I go to the California website they are not listed in the approved programs. So I doubt it. How hard is it to transfer the RN to another state?

I fear my CNAs! lol
I dont understand some of the nurses out there. I am not a cna. However, I have done Nursing Assistant work. I remember how the nurses treated me and I see the way some nurses treat thier cna's.I will never treat unlicensed employees that way. Maybe its cause they have never been a cna in thier shoes. You should be happy that they are there to help you. They are there to learn from you. Its called leadership! I have been doing patient care for about 7 years now. Mostly emergency care. I have seen some of the nurses on the floor's bark orders to the cna's while they sit and drink thier coffee and act like thier doing charting. Let me tell you. I was in the military and I never talked to the junior troops as bad as you talk down to some of the cna's. Let me leave you with something and this may be why your getting no cooperation from your cna's. A quote from my favorite movie, " Attitude reflects leadership"

Military Challenging the Boards
I was a Navy Corpsman for five years and California is the only state that will accept my training to challenge the board. I took the boards about a year ago and failed. I was much more confident the second go the other day. However, when it shut down at 85, I still felt overwhelmed with some of the questions. Does anyone know why California is the only state to let military challenge the board? Veterans with medical experiance and bedside care should be able to challenge the boards in every state. These states are losing out on such great people with great skills.

Hello. I took my NCLEX on Monday and California makes you wait 2-4 weeks for the results. My computer stopped at 85. Does anyone know anybody who failed with 85?
