Your perception of student nurses when they visit your hospital?
Ok, i live in canada, and i am in my 2nd year program of nursing. So far in my learning (Being in the hospital setting for 2 semesters now) i find there are a variety of nurses. THere are those just for the money, there are those there for the patients (very few i see), and some are the all around nurse. I know us as nursing students are pain in the ***, we only ask questions when we (the students and instructors) dont know the answer. I personally dont ask my RN for every little thing. YOU dont have to give me attitude. Arent you happy that we are taking the load off for you? OUr *** is on the line too, because it is our name on the patient's chart. We give you the info, u just need to sit there and check on the patient occasionally (if u dont trust us). I have encountered a lot of *****y nurses (excuse my language). SOme are just out to get you. they tell u one thing one minute and yell at u the next because u didnt do it (even though the first time they told u not to do it). And especially they pick at a time to "yell" at u infront of your instructor. We already have enough stress to do everything we can for the patient, we have this added pressure from our instructor because they are eyeing us like hawks, we dont need the extra "Sh*t" from the RN's. WE wont purposely do something to the patient to piss u off. becuase our career is on the line. i hear all these comments about that patients, doctors and collegues treating RN's so nicely ( in states). How come we dont have that in British columbia? one factor i could see is that states patients are considered "customers" because they pay everyhting. in canada we as a society pay for it. i kinda wanna go down to States to see what it is really like to practice. Just want to remind you, we ask you questions because we see you as a role model, a wealth and body of knowledge. we want to learn your techniques and ways because we want to be good like you. dont need to give us a hard time. Remeber, YOU WERE ONCE A STUDENT YOURSELF, REMEBER HWO THAT FELT. we want the best for our patients and ourselves and others. but understand we are all learners (even if we have been in the profession for 20 somewhat years) if you think you know it all (in nursing) maybe you should think again, because there is not a single person out there that knows everything. think outside the box, that's how we grow and learn and mature. Please be kind to the students in your unit. see us as a extra set of hands, an extra set of relieve for you. We thank you in advance. From All student nurses (present and future) thanks for listening, thanks for understanding, and thanks for being nice beee

Negative experience with practicing nursing in USA vs. canada
Personal negative experience w/ nursing (canada VS. USA) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi! Everybody. I need help. i am currently a 2nd year nursing student in Canada. We have to do a debate regarding recruitment to USA (the good and the bad). I have to do research on the negative side of recruitment. i have thought of many negative effects of recruitment. For example, nursing shortage in canada, worser working condition than before, closing of facilities due to shortages, brain drain, loss of funding from govt, time consuming, a lot of money goes into recruitment, and barriers nurses experience when they go into a new environment/state/country. IF any body has any more ideas it would be very helpful for me. My instructor has mentioned to me, it would be a really strong debate if i had a personal experience from a nurse who was trained or worked in canada and decided to move to the states to work and due to issues move back to canada to practice. Unfortunately i have looked into numerous scholarly journals and have found no personal experience. So, i am looking for help. I need to know what was the reason you chose to go to the states to practice and what was the reason you move back to canada to practice? any info would be excellent. the debate would only include the experience and confidentiality would be kept. i need to know the reasons behind why would you move back to canada to practice if "supposingly" states offer better wages, benefits, bonuses, living etc... If people can email me privately or reply this post, it would be AWESOME!!. My debate is on Monday so the quicker the reply the better. thanks a lot guys. all help would be greatly appreciated!! sincerely, BEEE

i need help on school Assignment
Hi everybody, As you can see, i am new to this website, so i am still a little lost. i have a school project due at the end of Nov and i need one volunteer that is a nurse. i am a first semester student at a local college in Canada. our assignment is to find a nurse onliine to have at least 3-4 interaction about the nurses life. and that is not in canada. it is nothing personal ie how long have you been a nurse, what do you like about it the most, what dont you like, would you still be a nurse if you can go back in time? etc.... as you can see it does require honest thoughts because (to honestly tell you, i dont know if nursing is the profession for me) and i kind of want to find somebody who felt like me when they were doing their schooling. OUr program now is offically 4 years program to get a BA in nursing inorder to go out and work we need to find out what their work life is like. etc... i am currently interested in going either to forensic, ER, OR and that narrows my field down, so to all those nurses who are interestd in this assignment and would love to help me please message me. i will only need one volunteer, but so far i do not have any luck so if you are interested please reply asap. I am not a pervert or a freak, i have passed a criminal record check before going into school so i am safe. the information you give me will be kept confidential betwen you me and my instructor. So please let me know if you are intersted Thanks
