I wanna know a little about nursing school and how hard you found it to be.
Oh my god girl! The first years of A&P, micro, psych that was a breeze! I had a perfect 4.0 then began clincals and I find it difficult to even keep a B average and that's with sleepless nights. Sleep is now a luxery to me!! Forget having a life, your friends will be your fellow nursing students and you guys will gather not to have fun, but to study. You can do it though, just stay focused on your goal. When you get into clinicals that's when you know for sure if you want it. Taking care of patients will give you such gratification and purpose in life that it will all be worth it. My advice is to keep up your GPA for these two years before and in your summers research disease processes that is most likely in the hospitals now such as Diabetes, Hypertension, CHF, A-fib, HIV, just the basics so when you do go to clinicals everything will fall into place and make sense. Sure you will have to put 200% effort, but it will pay off for you. I wouldn't want to do anything else! :redbeathe

Pharmacology
I need help! I'm a 1st year student for an ADN program and all my classes are going good except Pharm. My Pharm teacher gives us powerpoint notes which helps, but when it comes time to lecture she just reads straight off the powerpoints. I can do that myself!!! There's no in depth teaching and I'm a very subjective learner and am used to teachers.....umm i don't know......maybe teaching! I'm passing the course with a 75 but at any moment my grade can lower and if I do not receive a 75 or higher the road ends here. I need help big time. Any tips? I e-mailed her for tips but she never responded back to me. I would really like advice on good study techniques for this class. I try to make drug cards, but most of the questions on her exam are on side effects and it throws me off because each drug has about 30 side effects and I'm studying about 60 drugs! Almost every drug has Nausea and vomiting!! An help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sterile Dressing Changes
I failed my first check off when I did it and the best advice that I got is "Act like a Robot" Move your hands like a robot and keep them above waist at all time and just move like a robot. I guarantee that when you act like a robot you move slower and you are more aware of what you are doing and everything will fall into place. Of course PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Good Luck!
