  1. Thanks everyone for your posts. I do feel a little better after reading them. I'm bringing in my schedule today and will see what happens. Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's Eve!
  2. I am a new nursing assistant at a fairly large hospital, and have been employed for about a month. When I first joined the team, I received my schedule from my nursing manager, which was complete until the end of January. The schedule indicated that I would work Christmas Eve, have Christmas off, have New Year's Eve off and work New Year's Day. Today, I received a call from the hospital's nursing staff office asking why I wasn't at work. I expressed my concerns and indicated I was holding my schedule in front of me (given to me by my manager) that indicated I was scheduled to have New Year's Eve off and work New Year's Day. I was then transferred to my manager to discuss this further and she indicated the information I have is incorrect. I am so frustrated and discouraged right now, because I am really enjoying this job. This was the one and ONLY schedule I received when I started, and there was no mention of any changes made to schedules. Any changes or communications are posted in your personal mailbox, and I have received no changes or communications since this original schedule. My question is, has this happened to any of you out there? Any advice on how to proceed? I know I am 100% correct with my schedule information, and I feel that my manager completely dropped the ball on this. I'm bringing a copy of the paper schedule she gave me to show her, but I'm worried she will still come up with some excuse as to why this would be my fault, somehow. I have always been a dedicated, loyal and hard-working employee with every job I've had. I won't be able to work in an environment where I'm put in situations like this, so I'm just really frustrated right now and completely puzzed as to how this could happen. Any insight you guys could share would be highly appreciated. Thanks!!!
