I graduated 2 years ago with my RN. I worked for a year in a long term geriatric behavioral care center. First big mistake. Then I moved to California and have had the hardest time finding a job in a hospital. I want to get acute care experience because I know this will open a lot of doors and I will finally put into practice evrything I learned in nursing school. I am currently working at a skilled nursing facility. No luck in finding a job in a hospital. I feel trapped and unhappy. Every hospital tells me that they want somebody with at least a year experience. Well how am I going to get a year experience if I don't even get an opportunity. Please help.

I graduated with my ADN. Now I want to further my education and go into a bachelor's program. I started to look into online programs, to be specific University of Phoenix. I have been discouraged by some people including my best friend. They tell me this would not be equivalent to say going to UCLA. I would love to be able to not do it online, but it's more convenient at this point in my life. The closest school to me is about an hour away without traffic. Online would be perfect because I want to be able to work and still have a family. My question is would it hurt me in my future to have a bachelors's and possibly later a master's degree from an online school.

I will be graduating in about a month. I am stressing about N-clex but also about working. I already have a job that is prn CNA in a nursing home and they want me to work as an RN as soon as I am done. I don't know if it is a good idea to go to a nursing home as a new grad. I also got an offer to work in post partum, but I did not think it was a good idea to go into a specialty right away. I think that probably starting on the med-surg floor and getting the basics would be the best. What would you recommend? I enjoy elderly, babies, adults, etc. I have liked everything even mental health but I don't know where to start.
