  1. Hello! Is it EVER possible to get a part-time residency for new grad RN's? If not, what are other options for part-time jobs as a new grad? I am thinking a temporary position as a flu-shot nurse out in the community or maybe something in long-term care. My passion is L&D/Women's healthcare but I'm not sure that I can find a part-time residency in the hospital. The reason I cannot work full-time, for at least six months to a year out of school is that while I graduate in June, I am due with my first child in July! I can only hope to take the NCLEX before the baby comes! I definately don't want to lose the skills I've gained. Advice? Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions in advance :wink2:
  2. Hello! I will be graduating from an Associates Degree Nursing Program and sitting for the NCLEX next spring/summer '09. I am very interested in going into L&D and am wondering if part-time residencies are EVER offered in this area? I will be having a baby during the summer and won't be able to work full-time (and at all until Sept/Oct) but I know that I CAN'T lose my newly gained nursing skills. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!! (Seattle is my home town in case any of you know that area.)
