  1. Every school does not require the HESI. CHeck around some require the NET and some none. Every HESI is not exactly the same. The institution has the ability to tailor make their exam. The on I took had no Chemistry; only A&P, Math, Grammar and Reading.
  2. I posted before where the clinicals are. The move around based on the topic. My last rotation was in Pasadena. They are not always in the Med Ctr. YES it is very competitve. If you find a program that is not, DON'T GO!
  3. Lee does not require the Hesi A2 as a prerequisite for admission to the nursing program or the college. They have an open enrollment policy but you need to apply to the college (general). If you are academically ready (if you have taken math of some sort or they will give you a test to determine your abilities) you can sign up for the course. You don't even need to talk to the Nursing office. PS - No State funded institution can discriminate anyones race, origin or religion!

Sorry can't PM. Very interested please write back. I hav been on several medical mission trips including Africa. I am in nursing school now and when I finish that is what I will do. It is my passion and my call.
  5. I have a non-profit as well as work with 3 other non-profit Mission organizations. We work in the Caribbean and Africa with a trip leaving to Kenya in two weeks and a 3 week trip to Ethiopia in Jul 09. These trips offer some of the most rewarding experiences you can imagine. Typically we have several clinic days and also offer surgeries. Students are welcome. The heart for missions is REQUIRED! We have some informational sessions scheduled for Mid Feb and early Mar. where we will talk about opportunities, costs and much more. I am creating a course as an Honors Project for Lee College that will give students the opportunity to go on a short term mission and get credit - kinda like a mini session abroad.
  6. It is true. If you sit for the Pharm tech lic. you can take the math test at HCC. As Far as Lee - there were still spots avail for Spr.09 and it transfers anywhere. You could potentially et into HCC in the Fall. At the rate you are going there is NO program that requires Pharmacology that could get you in any faster than Fall 09. Go online Lee.edu and the info is there. The course number is the same as HCC. We have clinicals in various places. The first semester is Methodist (Med Ctr., Bayshore and Methodist-San Jacinto) From there it varies. You have choices at lee regarding where you go and the day you wish. SOmetimes they fill up fast based on location or teacher but at least you have some say vs HCC! The teachers are basically okay - at least they don't talk to you like you have a tail (like - oops I better not say what school! ;-). Just know Pharm @ Lee is a NO JOKE class! It is hard and fast. FYI! If you take Pharm @ Lee you will need to brush up on you math on your own to pass HCC's test. Every nursing program has its own issues my suggestion is pray for guidance on where you SHOULD go and the pursue that school. I applied to only one school - one time and the rest is History. Good Luck.
  7. You can take the Pharm class at Lee College in the spring 09 and be ready for the fall class at HCC or even Lee.
