I received the email about the background check and immediately completed it and paid. I haven't received the results yet though, I hope I did everything right!

Yeah, I am ready for the next two days to be over with. I can't imagine what could possibly take two days. Maybe we will get out early each day.

I am doing my CPR class through Top Notch Training and Treatment, LLC. It's $35 but there is a $5 coupon you can apply right away making it $30. You can register online through their website.

Thanks for the info so far. I am curious as to what it is going to be cost-wise and the breakdown! I understand around $1000 for tuition per semester, correct? What other costs will there be. Thanks!

2011nurse, Thanks for the info! Do you mind sharing what the cost of the first semester of nursing school is? Also the textbook? I need to be getting my ducks in a row. Thanks!

Surely they mean don't attempt to register for classes. I don't have a current CPR card either.

Looks like we will be in the same class then, if we both get our first choice. Actually, I can't do the program unless I get into that one, so I hope I do!

I got my acceptance letter today, woohoo! Hopefully you all will receive yours today or Monday too. I got a form to accept/decline my seat, but it said you will not receive your campus assignment for another few weeks. Good luck everyone!

Ok so this is probably a dumb question, but I need to know the answer so I can prepare. Is nursing school tuition the same per credit hour as regular credit hours at HCC?

Ohh no they calculate chemistry in with the GPA? I thought it was just pre-reqs!

HCC Applicants for Spring 2010
I got a campus choice letter today also. My GPA is 3.7x or 3.8x depending on which math they look at. Are you local? The local ppl might get the letter sooner than those that live further away. Good luck everyone! ETA -- I am applying for Dale Mabry nights/weekend. If I can't get that one then I'll have to wait until the next year and apply again.

Wow, that is a long time to wait. Did you apply for the evening program? I put a stamped self-addressed post card in my application packet and they sent it back to me saying my stuff was received. I really don't want to wait until Sept!

Whew.. that's good then, for me anyways! Hopefully we will all hear something soon.

HCC Applicants for Spring 2010
Hi, I applied for the evening/weekend program at Dale Mabry for Spring 2010. Does anyone know how many seats it has? Also, do they just look at the pre-reqs to determine GPA or cumulative for everything? Thanks!

Gravida question
Ok I was being a dork and looking through my husband's baby book and found his birth record. For his mom's gravida, it said "../II" Does anyone know what this might mean. It's hard to type what the denotation actually looked like, but it was 2 "."'s on top of a horizontal line, with "II" underneath. This was from 1978 BTW. Just curious if anyone is familiar with this.

Question about Newborn History and Physical Form
Hi, I am not a nurse yet, currently about to start nursing school. I just had a baby and I was reading over the newborn physical sheet and in the section about me it has the following: G. 4 P. 4. Does anyone know what G and P stand for and what the 4 corresponds to? I looked at the form for my other child and it says G. 3, P.3 Thanks in advance if anyone can help me! :)

USF Accelerated Program
Hi, I have a few questions about the Accelerated 2nd BS degree Nursing program at USF. I will be transferring in with a BS in Biology and needing to take 5 pre-req's, 2 of which are the A & P sequence. I saw that this is offered on the web. Do you have to go to campus for any part of this course?? Also, how hard is it to get in. I will be transferring in with a 3.4 and I know I need to make A's in my 5 remaining pre-req's. Do you think that will be good enough or should I find some other course of study to become a nurse. Any opinions on the program are appreciated!
