  1. I am scheduled to report the first week of Jan. 2010... after OBLC in Oct. I've been a nurse forever, but am new army... Good luck on the NCLEX... you'll do fine... See you in Germany!
  2. I took the NCLEX a hundred years ago... or so it seemed... and I took an in-person review from Kaplan... I passed with no problem... you should be just fine! Kaplan rocks
  3. Thanks for the update! I am glad I got bumped to the Oct. OBLC! Anyone reading this going to OBLC in OCT? Anyone from MN? I want to drive to Tx, to have a car, but its 1300+ miles each way? Any suggestions from others? Another question... how do you get an AKO account? I can't get in to it... UGH Thanks for any help! gettingitdun1
  4. Thank you so much for the info, kyeplorer! It sounds like a nice relaxing area... I made the decision (finally) to take the Landstuhl position... hopefully the HRC will not change their minds... I think I will be better suited over there! If anyone has Landstuhl info, I'd love to hear it too! I appreciate any info!
  5. I don't seem to have access yet-- looks like you need to post 15 times... I'm new yet but I have gmail, if you can figure it out:) send me a quick gmail?
  6. Thanks, LZRN... I'd really like to go to Germany. Is there an easy way to connect with nurses already at these bases to ask questions? I need to give Major H. an answer to solidify my slot soon. Have a great weekend!
  7. Well, I'm back to OBLC in October. Good thing. Texas is HOT! I just spoke with Maj. Hairston at the HRC, and she gave me some hospitals to choose... Does anyone out there have any knowledge of Ft Benning in GA; Landstuhl, Germany, or Ft. Knox? Im a Minnesota girl and want to get out of the cold, but am not sure I'd like the heat of Georgia... Plus, I'd like to know if there is anything to do in these areas... Germany is a no brainer as far as things to do, but Kentucky and GA??? I'd appreciate any insight into these 3 bases...
  8. Thanks for the info everyone... I think I just got re-bumped into July. I was looking forward to October. July is going to be HOT! Say, BunkyRN-- what is the "5 day club" ???Also, when has everyone been recieving their first duty station orders (before or during OBLC?) Thanks!
  9. HI, I, too was slotted for July '09 OBLC... but just got bumped to October... Is this common? I didn't get a reason, just an email stating that I have been rescheduled for October... I guess I shouldn't complain... Texas is probably much more pleasant in Oct-Dec. Than in July... If anyone is slotted for Oct... lets connect.. I would love to know someone before actually heading down there! Good luck to those of you in the July Class!
  10. Thanks for the info... I am new to this site, new to the Army Nurse Corps, and like you, am older than dirt, and would prefer being a couch potato. My OBLC date is July, and have started my training... I want to pass the PT the first time. I just started curves and running the days off (well, slow jogging)... Anyone have any comments about CURVES? Thanks!:usarm:
