  1. I was in the ED at SNHMC for severe abdominal pain - lucky me... doc shift change. 1st doc was great. 2nd doc was a complete &^%$# Totally arrogant. Said he'd send me home with Vicodin and I told him I didn't like Vicodin because it makes me nauseous. He got sarcastic and said, "oh... so what do you like?" AS IF I were drug-seeking. I like Advil. If I need more than that, they shouldn't have been kicking me out. He said he needed the bed and gave me an overly ambitious bolus of Fentanyl. Made me want to puke - literally. I woke up at home in the middle of the night screaming in agony (literally) but couldn't imagine waiting another 4 hours in the waiting area to be seen by that pompous jerk, only to be thrown out like garbage again and treated like a drug-seeking addict. To be fair, my husband was there in June and had a fantastic doctor (female of course - all the good ones are female) - great sense of humor, totally willing to answer any and all questions, treated him like an adult, confident but not arrogant, didn't refer to him as "8" (in other words, room #8 - this happened to me there), etc. I have mixed feelings about the doctors there. I haven't had a lot of luck with their cardiologists, either.
