  1. If you got hired, please PM me!
  2. Cerobbin, can you PM me the HR number you called please? I emailed the recruiter a couple of days ago but she hasn't responded. Thanks!
  3. Hoping UCD puts me outta my misery soon...no letter, no phone call yet! I need to know if I need to scramble to take NCLEX before start date or if I can pace myself.... I interviewed for adult BMT/Onc unit and I saw someone got a call already...is this true?
  4. Hi! I got into the Jan 2011 class and was wondering how busy is that first Monday start date? I ask because I have an important project at work and was hoping to go to work after the first day of class. Can someone let me know how the first day is? Thanks.
  5. I emailed KW and she said the 3rd! OMG, they are so _____. I need to plan my last day of work and they're not very helpful.
  6. Do you know when SMU San Mateo starts? The link KW sent us said Jan 4th and the Academic calendar says Jan 3rd...
  7. Thanks Meli! I'm starting ABSN in San Mateo in January. Number 7 is not bad at all! Waitlisted is better than rejected, right? =) Just keep your head up (I know easier said than done)! Even with my son's liver transplant, I always told myself God has a bigger plan so you just gotta trust it. =)
  8. Came home to a rejection letter in the mail....Oh well. I'm bummed but super relieved I can now move on! Good luck everyone! I'm sure we'll cross paths in the nursing world real soon! =)
  9. I emailed MM about the status of my application (yeah, I couldn't help it) and she said: "Letters are going out today. Thank you for your patience." Why couldn't they email it?! Sheesh!! Acceptance or rejection, I'd like to move on with my life... Life's mantra: "Everything happens for a reason." Gotta keep telling myself that....
  10. So tempted to call MM! Still waiting....
  11. Congrats Rigs! Sorry, I'm so nervous I can throw up! LOL!
  12. Thanks Rigs...What does your last name start with?
  13. Space, goodness! I feel like I've been applying forever to nursing programs! Applied to UCSF twice in 2008 and 2009 (you only need 3 pre-reqs)...Did some more pre-reqs and applied to SMU for Fall 2010...then reapplied for SMU for Spring 2011 with an application to USF first-time (this forum). If I counted how I spent on application fees, tests, transcripts, etc...it could pay my rent in SF and then some! I think I couldn't turn down USF even if I wanted to so yes, USF is first choice. =) Don't get discouraged! Just keep fighting...tenacity is half the battle! =)
  14. Space, haven't heard anything yet. Will you be applying again for Summer? If I don't get in, I have no choice but go to SMU in January. I'm really hoping for USF now!
  15. Vintage, you definitely need a lab as a pre-req...its not just SMU but for the other schools as well. I believe some schools offer just the lab portion but those are few and far between so I couldn't even tell you which schools. Sorry. Good luck!
  16. Meli, thanks! After the first couple of rejections, an acceptance is anti-climatic...after awhile with programs telling you no for so long, sometimes I doubt if I really wanna do it, you know? Definitely do the CNA program! I did it at a private school so it was $$$ but in the end, it is very humbling and a great start to see if nursing is right for you. Good luck everyone! You'll get there sooner or later....its a matter of time. =)
  17. misty and space, sorry to hear about the letter. =( definitely re-apply! i haven't received anything from USF yet...not sure if its cuz I live in SF so postal isn't as efficient or what! 400 applicants?! That's insane! Good luck in the near future and hope you get your happily ever after. =)
  18. Do you know when we have to get our transcripts in? Multiple people have been mailing different checklists, etc. and there's no financial aid information yet....UGH. P.S. Don't forget to register this week...its not intuitive so be forewarned.
  19. Space, I know! Even though they said end of Nov, I was hoping to get an early surprise! Hahaha...so much for no expectations right? Giants, congrats on getting into NYU (I saw your other postings)! I imagine you'd rather stay in SF but NYU isn't a bad choice either. =) C'mon USF! Put us outta our misery....
  20. So, I researched what a CNL does and the more I read about it, the more I like the idea of it! I really hope USF calls us soon! I was accepted to another nursing program and they're setting up orientation, etc. but I don't want to put my all into it until I hear back from USF.
  21. Hey guys and gals, If I've been accepted for January start in San Mateo, do you know if its possible to push acceptance til April in San Francisco?
  22. FYI, I emailed MM about when they'll be notifying us especially with the Thanksgiving weekend and she said, END of November. Waiting....waiting....waiting.
  23. Thanks spacegirl! It was such an anti-climatic acceptance on my part because I was in the middle of the World Series! LOL! I think it's hitting me now. I'll def keep you updated on which way I choose. Last year, I had no options...this year, I potentially have 2. C'mon USF! Its gonna be a hard decision once I cross that bridge! Good luck everyone! Sending good thoughts your way!
  24. Sharshark, My stats are pretty average - below average compared to the competition: Undergrad: 3.2 Science: 3.2 TEAS overall: 87.1 TEAS reading: 92.5 TEAS math: 84.4 TEAS science: 70 TEAS english: 94.5 I applied for Nov 2010 in SF and didn't get in. So over the summer, I did a CNA program (which USF highly suggested - the other school I applied to and waiting to hear back from). Its a great experience and I highly recommend it to all would-be nurses. Cuz if you don't like being a glorified #ss wiper, nursing's not for you! LOL! My essay was unique in which my son is a liver transplant patient and that's why I'm doing nursing. Good luck everyone! If I get a call from USF, it'll be a very hard decision to make between SMU and USF!
  25. Hi guys! I got the call around 6pm that I was accepted to San Mateo cohort! My last name starts with an R. Its a long time coming - I almost didn't believe her and I was in the zone watching the SF Giants kill it in the World Series! I'm celebrating double time tonight! So, good luck to everyone!
