How do you remember
Thank you so much Whispera I know it's a way out but, I am going to try and get one of those pda thingy at least my christmas....don't have any real extra money right now... ok so I will take a deep breath.... i am intrigued really...just fearful too! hahah. Have you always worked in psych? i know i will have training too but you know first time as a nurse in ANY area i think you just are uncertain of yourself... i actually didn't take my Boards until a YEAR after I graduate....and I was my class speaker hahaha! I probably was the last one to get my license!!! but I was so glad I got it on the first go....b/c I my nerves could not have taken trying to study for that again. the downfall is i'm scared I will lose my clinical experiences and if for some reason I can't hand it further down the road, i will have to re learn those techniques over again...but hey that's training is for huh? I'm just nervous....let me stop babbling....Thanks again!!!!

Psych Interview...any suggestions?
OMG!!!! I am a new LPN, and I have more experince as a former CNA in the LTC field, but I actually just got a job as a Psyche Nurse!!! I am sooooo excited and scared at the same time. All those DRUUUGGGGSSSSSSSS!!! I didn't have any experience at all...you know you get you occassional bouts with dementia/Alzheimer's disease in the nursing home, but no REAL experience. The Specialty hospital is a associated with Madison Center it's called GeroPysch....so it's has the geriatric patients that I am use to....just in a different capacity. I think it will be a great experience...that's why I decided to leave the employeer that I have now. I won't really get the clinical part of it, b/c I don't believe they have those ailments; just the psyche issues, but I welcome the challenge. I have to review a lot of things from my ATI resource regarding mental health, and some other resources, b/c I can't play around with this responsibility...it can be intense it seems like. I just pray I keep MY senses!!!! I also actually wanted to post to those nurses who had experience, but either I don't know how to post or I am not able to post... don't know why. Be encourage. You are educated. And remember....NO one started out with experience....if you aren't given the opportunity you can't never aquire the experiece....it has to start fresh somewhere! Hope all goes well with you! AplusNurse

Does full time forensic nursing exist?
Hahaha I have been subscribed to allnurses for a little over a year, but this is really my first time getting one. I don't know how to post, but I know how to reply. Pitiful. haahah I, too, am a 'low paid nurse' (haha I LOVE that_), and I , too, am interesting in being a Forensic Nurse.... just wanted to let you know that I am interesting in the replies you get. At first I was considering Christian Science Nursing. I just received my first job..actually first two jobs as a LPN...but I am going to go with the Psyche Nurse job vs. the LTC Nurse. Happy Nursing AplusNurse
