  1. Hi all- I finish LPN school in October (I live in Florida right now) I would like to finish school and move to the city to pursue my RN. I have several questions. #1- Is it doable financially to live and work as an LPN in NYC? I am single. What is the going rate for a new grad LPN? #2- what are some of the better RN schools? I have recieved liturature from Phillips-Beth Israel and Helene Fuld (I like the idea of a hospital based program but I am open to anything) Any input on these schools or others? #3-Who hires LPN's up there other than LTC? I work for the VA right now as a student nurse tech and I may stay with them and transfer to get myself up there but I would like to see what else is available. I am really set on moving up there it is one of my dreams just to say I did it! While I am young and carefree I figure why not??!?!?!? Anyway any help would be appreciated! Sarah
  2. [i am working at the VA now and I really enjoy it. It has worked out well for me so far. PM me and we can swap notes :)
  3. Hey all! I just wanted to know if anyone knows about the student nurse technician program at the VA. I was just hired and I am going through my first week of orientation but I just curious if anyone else has any experience with it. Also would like to know how all the nurses out there enjoy working at the VA. Everyone I have met so far has been super nice and friendly and seem to really like their jobs....Is this the norm? Thanks for your help in advance and Happy New Year! Sarah
