  1. You are so young...you still have 30 yrs before you can retire.
  2. Hi all! I need some advice. I am currently a Hospice RN Case Manager. I work M-F with no call for the most part (though I do work 50-60 hrs/wk including charting time). I am considering applying for an on-call nurse position at a different hospice company. The position is 7 days on 7 days off. I will be taking call M-F 5p-8a and all weekend, but then be off for 7 days. Have any of you ever done both of these and if so, which would you recommend? I have to admit the 7 on 7 off sounds very appealing with three children and all. Help!
  3. Anyone here have any experience with or have worked for United Hospice? If so, I would love to hear any details you may have about the company...good or bad.
  4. I know exactly how you feel hospicetex and am beginning to establish boundaries, but I don't think management likes it very much because I was the one they called who almost always said yes.
  5. I totally agree with you Leslie, however, I feel guilty because I sooo want to be available for my pt's and families when they need me. I also feel guilty when management asks me to do something extra like an admission (on my non-admission day) and I refuse because I feel like I am letting my team down and perhaps this pt who may really need our services right away. Ok, so I guess I have the martyr complex
  6. I am a relatively new hospice nurse (1 year). I easily work 50-60 hrs a week and when I spoke with my CSD about feeling burned out from so many hours, she said I need to learn that hospice is not a job but a way of life. Any hospice nurses heard management say that before?
  7. Thanks for your advice caliotter3. I was thinking about requesting PRN status at the hospital. Maybe work some weekend days here and there. Do you that think that would help with the job hopper reputation?
  8. I am a new RN (well, I have a years experience, but still consider myself a new RN). I graduated August 2007. I have already worked at 2 hospitals and am considering leaving the second hospital to do home health. Am I moving around too much?
