I just attended our annual association meeting in TN (TANA) and I am hearing mixed things about what it is like to practice anesthesia on the west coast? Can you tell me a little bit about the crna profession out there? Do we have very much autonomy as crnas ? I am actually very interested in OHSU as a place for my first job. What has your experience been like there in clinicals? Are crnas involved in all types of surgeries there and if so to what extent? Do the place their own epidurals and do blocks? Hello, My name is Kristen. I am currently in a CRNA program in Nashville, TN (MTSA). I will be traveling to Portland, OR over thanksgiving weekend and was wondering if there is anyone there I may be able to shadow or simply talk to regarding anesthesia in Portland. I am strongly considering moving there upon graduation and wanted to get some information and perhaps some contacts. Thanks for all your help!
