I am currently in FNP school in central Florida. I wanted to find out my worth so that when I graduate I would be able to negotiate properly when looking for jobs. Would anyone working as an NP in Florida let me know what part of florida they live and general salary range as well as benefits, time off, if they are 1099 or W2 and how many years experience. Thank you!

I live in central florida and it seems that USF is the last state school to have an MSN FNP program. The only alternative I have found that isn't completley online is South University's Orlando Campus. It is fairly new and pretty much an extension of the Tampa campus. It is private, however it is accredited and not-for profit. Has anyone attended a brick and mortar FNP program at South university and let me know how they thought it was? I know you have to find your own preceptors. I want to know about lab experiences, content, professor support, and if its worth the cost if possible. Thanks

Has anyone still not received any communication about acceptance or denial or an interview? I keep calling and emailing and all I get is they haven't made a decision yet. I really need to know so I can plan if I am going to my plan B college or not.

I haven't heard anything and I submitted feb 15th. I emailed and the advisor said it looks like "simply at this time they haven't decided to send me an interview invite" but no decision has been made yet i guess. I have a 4.0 BSN Gpa 7 years as a nurse in er, surgical and GI and have community involvement. My only shortcoming is they made me put a chemistry 2 grade on that stupid science gpa that i failed but it was for a degree i didn't finish many years ago and not nursing. I was told by nursing admissions department to omit it and by the actual admissions advisor to add it so they don't think i was purposely hiding a bad grade. ugh í ½í¸ª I am so sad. I feel like I won't get in because I have classes from another degree, so unfair. And this is the only public college in the area with an MSN FNP. í ½í¸¢

I just applied a couple weeks ago. Got the email that my application was under review last week so I keep checking every day. Hopefully I get in My BSN GPA is 4.0 overall is 3.3. 7 years as a nurse in medsueg, ER and outpatient procedures. Did anyone hear if they are accepted yet?

Where do you work as a CNA? I just got a job as a new cna at coquina center in ormond. Its not bad so far. But I feel you... I dont want to do this forever.

Good luck with that. I have to go for the night time course and I applied last YEAR and didnt get in with an 82% net test and a 3.3 gpa I was in my prereqs at the moment tho. If I dont get in this year after waiting soooo long and having my prereqs done I can say I will be inthat office raising cain. They only take like 30 students a semester but the lady told me the LPN is alot less competitive than the RN and Id love to finish faster. But only time can tell. I will be turning my application in septemeber when the application process starts for the January semester. Hopefully we will both get in

Where did you find a CNA course for $180? The lowest Ive seen is $300. I dont really want to pay that much to earn $10 an hour? I also just finished my prereqs for the LPN program and have to apply in May for august or september for January but in the mean time I need to find a better job that is more flexible with my school. does anyone know what lpns make starting out in daytona beach i am also at dbcc...now daytona state for lpn.. my current job i make 16 an hour but i hate what I do and would love to be a nurse i want to go to the the rn program right after. I just need to get out of my career. I heard that halifax pays horrible but im not sure.. do you think i have any hope of getting a comparable salary to what i make now as an lpn?
