  1. First I wnt to thank you for you comment. I called my school and talked to them and was told that I could take my test for STNA! Yippe! SO I will be going up there to day when I get off work to get the paperwork and taking the test ASAP! I am so excited! I even started applying for jobs that are offering traing or open to nontested personel.
  2. I heard froma friendd who is just about to graguate from the same program I'm in that I can work as a CNA even though I have not passed a state test just from being in the LPN program. Has any one else heard this? Is there any credence to what she said? I am having a heck of a time finding a Job, I am currently in the work study program but they keep cutting our pay and hours so I'm in desperate need of a new job. Please help.

I just got to do my first female cathiter! Yay! It was not as easu as it looks or at all how we practiced in the lab. The elderly patient I worked on was not anatomicaly correct. I was all set to go thinking about all the landmarks we were taught and they wernt there. She was a patient of "Dr. Love". All her "stuff" was moved inside! But I pull through!now I'm all signed off and can do them in the clinical setting without my instructor.
  4. So Im in my second term of LPN classes and Am finally getting into the swing of thinings at clinical. I never thought I would enjoy it so much however I was at my clinical site when i was exposed to Hep positive blood I have been vacinated against B, However the patient has 2 kinds and I had no open skin in the location of the exposure. But I'm a bit freaked out. should I worry?
  5. So, Im in my second term of LPN school and I have just about had it! My school is so disorganized and my clinical setting is worse! But my main consern is the course content. I haven't paid much attention this term (bad I know) but I'm still passing with flying colors. It seems to me that all the tests are common sense, and that were aren't really learning anything that is real vital. Please tell me it just the term and that things will pick up soon. I'm not saying its easy becouse the cousre texts contain some real complicated stuff but we aren't getting tested on those things. Should I consider switching schools?
