Hi Everyone~ I want to introduce myself. My name is Kara and I am 44 y.o. I live in Western PA and I am embarking on a journey that is exciting and scary~I am sure many of you have felt this before starting as well. I am registering for my prereq's this spring semester at the university near my home. I will hopefully begin the ASN (RN) program in Fall 2009. I am quitting a nice job as a loan officer to pursue a career as a nurse. I just feel this calling and know that this is what I am supposed to be doing at this time in my life. My husband and I would like to relocate to a larger city and I am glad to know that I will certainly be able to find work if we decide to do this. When I asked my son, who is 11, what he thought about me becoming a nurse he said, "I won't be able to stay home from school and pretend to be sick anymore:rolleyes:" Anyway~I can't wait to start school and to join in on this great forum. I am excited to begin a new chapter and am ready for the challenge of nursing school and all that it has to bring.
