Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital, NJ
I worked ancora 11-7. Dangerous, dirty,NO support from co-workers. From my experience terrible terrible place to work. Try a county bhs hospital. Same pay and benefits cleaner and more contact.

Ancora Psychiatric Hospital - any recent news?
I worked the night shift 11-7. I am not aware of changes. I'm telling you this place is dangerous! If your a Nurse best bet is to go to a county BHS hospital. The problem with state hospitals is that the patients that arrive come in with "mental illness" and leave with 3 times worse of a condition. It was sad for me your not able to be helpped and support from co workers is not given. This is at least my personal experience. As a nurse there is no patient contact your behind a glass window. Like I mentioned before if your interested in psych best bet is to go a county hospital. State pay cleaner and more interaction. Good luck to you all....

Ancora Psychiatric Hospital - any recent news?
Hello, I actually resigned from Ancora about 3 months ago. It is an extremley dangerous place to work. Security is not any better and the staff primarily Social Service Aides are lazy and the RN's and Lpns are not fun to work with... Are I work at Camden County Health services center in the Psych ( BHS) department. Excellent pay more than Ancora and excellent benefits. Staff is great and the enviroment is clean and MUCH MUCH MUCH SAFER!!!!! goodluck to you!!!!

Can I transfer to nursing with these credits ?
Hi all I plan on taking my general ed classes online through Devry university before enter Nursing classes next year. Apparently all of the classes are able to be transfered to the community college I want to take nursing classes at. I double checked with them and they said they do except transfers from devry. I have done some research and there are some negative reviews about devry. Is there any chance Admissions could be making a mistake and telling me they do accept devry ...I dont want to pay large amounts of money and find out these credits aren't able to be transfered.... Its faster It will take me 10 months to complete all general ed. Any suggestions? How do I go about this wih admissions at my local college and my counsler at devry? Sorry if this is disorted Im stressing over this cant sleep.............

Can someone give me advice pls?
Hi Ladies&Gentlemen, I'm 22 years old and have worked in the healthcare field for 5 years. I've finally decided that I am ready to go back to school and take Nursing. I have chosen a local community college for nursing. I have none of the general education classes completed english comp, psych etc; In order to apply for the nursing program (in March 2009) My pre rec. is Anatomy&Phys 1. Devry offers this course online WITH lab componets that is acceptable through my community college. After speaking with the admission counsler through Devry. I found out that all the classes I need to take other than the NUR through my community college are offered through devry 2 classes every 8 weeks. this means I can take all my classes except nur in 10 months. SO im asking should I spend the next 10 months getting all the general education classes out of the way. Than apply for nursing in March 2010? I would only have 2 classes a semester Help please:confused: Nursing 1,Nursing Lab1 First semester Nursing 2,Nursing Lab2 Second semester Nursing 3Second year Thanks!!!!
