  1. So, I graduated last June:D... I was all excited:bugeyes:... I took my NCLEX in September and passed:yeah:... I spent three months looking for a job:uhoh3:... I was accepted to an emergency room fellowship program at a very very good hospital three blocks from where I live:smokin:... It was scheduled to begin on March 23rd... I received a call today that "After March budget reviews the finance department has canceled the March fellowship"... So... I spent two months and change on my butt waiting for this job to start, while the economy has gotten steadily worse, and now I have to start all over again. WoW... I don't even know what to do with myself now. I mean I know times are hard, and I know there are about 30 to 35 other people in the same boat as me(and I feel horrible for them as well). Still, I couldn't even look my wife in the eyes to tell her this. I feel horrible. Part of me wonders if I made the biggest mistake ever getting into nursing. I mean... I didn't even get to start the job.........
  2. Hello, I recently passed my NCLEX and have been applying everywhere. Of course, no one is calling back. I live in NY and from what I understand getting a job as a new grad is a pain. I was offered a position in a nursing home, decent pay-ok hours. My question is should I take it? Will it give me the experience everyone wants? Or should I keep looking? I want to work in the E.R. but no one wants a new grad in there. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, r:banghead:
