  1. i'm taking a sociology class and have a group paper to write. our topic is to analyze pay differences between male and female rns. i know income is a personal topic but if you’re willing to help me out i would appreciate your response. i know there are lots of factors that will influence pay but we're trying to keep it basic at this point...so if you have the time, i really need responses from some of the men out there. thank you!! i need: rn's with associate or bachelors degrees must work in a hospital. here are the questions: 1. how long (years) have you been a nurse? 2. what is your annual gross income? less than 30k, 30-40k, 40-50k, 50-60k, 60-70k, greater than 70k 3. do you have an associate or bachelors degree? 4. how long have you worked for your present employer (seniority)? 5. on average how many hours do you work weekly? 6. do you work during the week, over the weekend, both? 7. what is your gender?
  2. You are correct, there are so many factors that can throw off the data. Thankfully our professor just wants this to be a general paper that shows we know how to use the methods of research. In order to keep it basic we had to eliminate numerous questions. We will be building on it in the future though. I'm still very curious to find out what the information will show.
  3. I would be happy to post the findings, it won't be done for about two months. Hopefully I get some guys to post too! We didn't discuss it as a group but I think we should have also asked for location too, I'm sure that will cause variations...
  4. I'm sure it all depends on the procdure that you are going to have. My surgery cost me about $11,000. The surgeon has a deal worked out with the hospital and Anesthesiologist in which they had set fees.

  6. I'm not a nurse yet but I'm an EMT and STNA... I had the Sleeve done in January 2007 and have lost 110 lbs. I self paid for the procedure. It took six weeks from the initial informational meeting until the day of surgey. Every aspect of my life has improved and I would do it again without a second thought.
