Hi, im a sfsu student trying to apply for the nursing program next fall. I read many threads and many people are saying new nurses are hard to find jobs without experiences. So, I am wondering if I should expose myself early to the healthcare field by becoming a CNA or MA while working toward RN. My questions are: Is it worth to become a CNA or MA before RN? Which one is better as an experience for RN? CNA or MA? ( i read other threads as well and saw many mixed reviews) How is the CCSF CNA program?(because it only takes one semester) Any recommendation besides SFSU nursing program? Hi, everyone! A Newbie!! I am currently attending SFSU and planning to apply for the nursing program next fall. But as many of you already know, its so impacted and hard to get in(and it's not even a major now!!!). So, I am wondering if anyone can recommend good nursing schools or programs from other colleges. I heard about SJSU, East bay, city college but not others. I have finished most of the state's prereq. except for nutrition, anatomy, and physiology which i am going to take in spring. My overall GPA is 3.7, and prereq GPA is around 3.56. I have 100 hrs of volunteering at CPMC and good proficiency in another language. By the way, what do you guys think my chances of getting into the SFSU nursing program are? Honestly, I don't think my chance are high. But i will still try to apply. At the same time, I need some backup plans. Therefore, can someone give me some recommendations on nursing schools? Thank you for helping in advance!!
