  1. Hey MJ3lasvegas, I found out that NEVADA BON doesn't SSN to process my application and sit in NCLEX exam. That's way better than in CO BON where it requires SSN before processing my application. Thanks a lot for you help! I'll apply soon in NEVADA.
  2. Hello all, I'm not here to create controversy rather gain knowledge about the process. My intention is not to degrade the value of SSN but to show my frustration with it. Nobody knows how frustrating it is unless somebody gets into this kind of situations. I also know that it's a privilege to come to US and work because the way everybody looks US as the land of opportunity. I'm sorry if I've offended with this matter. I should watch out my language. Would you kindly give me some constructive advice rather than to entangle with these kind of situations?
  3. deertime, Are you allowed to sit in the NCLEX exam without SSN? Did CA BON process without SSN?
  4. MJ3lasvegas, I'm aware with the fact that I can't work/practice in US without US nursing license. The one and only reason is that Colorado BON doesn't process my application without SSN. So, that means I can't seat for NCLEX exam. It seems like everything is pending just because of this stupid number. I don't see the reason why the BON don't process the application, at least, so that I can take NCLEX exam. I know that they can't issue the license without SSN but at least they should process my application and evaluate it. That way, I'd know where to go from there. I recently talked to the Colorado BON about me leaving the US and process my application. In that case, I can use SSN affidavit form (meaning that I don't have SSN and I don't physically present in the US). They said that if I use SSN affidavit form, then I need to be out of US during the whole licensing process period. I also found that the Vermond BON doesn't require SSN if the applicant isn't US citizen. This might be just my another option.
  5. Hi ghillbert, Were you physically present in US when you applied for license in Vermont and PA? I checked the PA BON website and the application require you to provide the SSN. As of me, I applied in Colorado BON and they also have SSN affidavit form for those who don't have SSN and aren't physically present in the US. But, the problem is, I'm already here in US in dependent visa (H4 visa). Help me out please! I want to at least be licensed in US and get ready in case the retrogression is pulled.
  6. Hi rachz_rn, I'm also in the same boat as you. I applied in Colorado BON but they require SSN to process my application. Do you know other states who don't require SSN?
  7. The problem is that all the BONs that I've looked so far require SSN for application. I can't just believe that the SSN would create this much of trouble.
  8. hi K.P.A., My originial intention is to work, that's why I applied to BON. Aren't BON the one who decide if we require bridge programs? So, I was thinking that they'd process and evaluate my application. After that, I am guessing they'd tell me if my education is enough or not and go from there. I already evaluated my education from CGFNS. If the education isn't enough, then I could go to school here. Am I thinking in the correct way? How'd you proceed if you were in my situation? Do you look for the job and obtain offer letter first? The only reason I wanted to go to school is to obtain SSN, so that BON would process my application and let me know if I need more education.
  9. I already have ITIN # and they don't take that. They keep insisting that I must provide SSN in order to process my application. The form that you're talking about is the same SSN Affidavit form and is required you not be physically present in the US.
  10. Hi, I'm in H4 visa in US. I recently applied in Colorado BON but asked me SSN which I don't have it. They said I must have SSN before they start processing my application. They waive SSN (by filling out SSN affidavit form) for those who are International and not physically present in the US. Since, I'm physically present in the US, they can't process my application unless I provide them SSN. So, my question is, is it legal to go back to my home country and complete SSN affidavit and come back to US? I could go to F1 visa and obtain SSN but looking for other options. I can't believe I'm struggling just to get SSN. Please help anybody who are/were in the similar situations! Thanks!!
  11. Thanks Silverdragon102, Now, it's getting clear. do you know any good websites where we can find the list of jobs/employer where i can start contacting them? i know there is a huge retrogression right now, do u think the new will be passed anytime soon? so, i was also thinking to do RN-BSN program in the meantime.
  12. So, can the employer willing to file H1b (assuming the good economic condition) without first being licensed in US? i'm in the impression that the US employer won't offer us the job unless you are licensed here in US. am I wrong to think this way? again, thanks much for your help! kanchula
  13. hi Silverdragon102, If we don't get SSN before getting work visa, then how we'll the get the work visa? To get work visa, first, you have to be licensed from that state, and to be licensed, you need SSN? It seems like obtaining SSN, getting work visa, and being licensed are interlooped with each other because they need each other to get the other one and so on. can you suggest me other options in this case?
  14. Does anybody know if there are some sort of bridging programs that I can take? I completed 3 years of Associate degree from Nepal and I'm RN licensed from Nepal. Also, is it the wisest option to consider RN to BSN programs here in US? I'm in PA, so is there any good universities/colleges that you recommend ? I appreciate your help! kanchula
  15. Hi Sarmi, I'm also from Nepal and I'm in H4 visa too here in US. I've applied for licensure in Colorado board of nursing. But, I'm also thinking about the option to go for BSN. Did you ever take bridging courses before you start your BSN? Help me how to proceed on this! Thanks, kanchula
