  1. I would really like to get a bachelors degree and I don't want to take the longer route. I've already wasted 3 years of my life not knowing what I should get into and now I finally decided I want to be a nurse. I'm from Canada so I don't think I would be qualified to receive the tuition reimbursement. In Canada, once you've completed your bachelors in nursing, you are certified as a registered nurse and when you complete the nursing program at the college you are certified as a practical nurse. What is the difference between a college graduate and a university graduate from the nursing program in the states? I know that the material covered in university is more in depth but what is the difference when it comes to working at a hospital? What title do nurses with a bachelors receive when working at a hospital?
  2. How long would it actually take if you enroll in full-time classes? I was thinking of getting my ADN and then transferring to university to get my BSN without having to work. I was thinking of putting off work until I get my BSN. Will that still take 2-3 years to complete?
  3. I was wondering how long does it usually take to get your BS once you have completed nursing at the college (with an associate degree)? I thought it would just be another year extra at the university to get your BS is this true or does it take longer than that? Would it take longer to get your BS if you went to college and then university?
  4. I spoke to Michelle this morning and turns out, I don't need to take the math class since I tested out of it already and it's not required for the NET. I already dropped my sociology and enrolled for math and now I will have to drop math and find something else to enroll in. Mostly all classes are full now so I will have to find something else to take...any suggestions?
  5. Christy, the counselor told me I wouldn't need math or chemistry either because I met the requirements also through my high school grades and my compass grade but everyone is telling me now that they're both required in order to get into the program.
  6. So I dropped my sociology and I enrolled for Math 080 so I can take my chemistry next semester. I hope I'm on the right path now.
  7. Ohh ok, I see. How long did you have to wait until you got into the program?
  8. Did you take A&P during second semester of your pre-reqs?
  9. What courses did you guys have to take before taking the NET?
  10. Would I be able to take MATH 080 and CHM 131 during second semester? I can't believe this counselor convinced me to take sociology instead, I really thought he knew what he was doing. It's first day of school and I tried to see if I can enroll in either the math or the chemistry but both classes are pretty much closed now.
  11. I just enrolled at HFCC and I'm taking my pre-requisites: BIO 131, PSY 131, SOC 131 and ENG 131. What other courses will I need in order to get into the nursing program? When will I have to take my NET exam? Where can I find all the information about the NET exam? There are spots available this semester to take the exam but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take it now or later. I was also told by the counselor that I won't have to take CHM or MTH since I received a score of 65 on the math portion of the compass test. Is this true? I would really appreciate any information you can provide for me. Thank you :)
