  1. You are awesome Silverdragon! Thanks! Well, why is it so difficult when it was mentioned in a documentary that USA has like 200 thousand Nurses shortage? And there are some Nursing agencies advertising "Get your Green Cards in 18 months or 2 years. Are these just publicity stunts? Why doesnt the US gov start working visas for Nurses instead of Green Cards? Are there any such plans? Do you think these things will change if Barrack wins? And finally, do you think i have a better chance if i further my Nursing education there instead and try it from there? Anyways, thank you so much Silverdragon for taking the trouble to fill me in!
  2. Here is my plan. Please advice me if you think this is not workable. 1)I have a tourist visa so i go to USA and do that 6 weeks course on OBS. 2)I come back to Australia, and then do my Nclex in Sydney. 3)I will get that paperwork saying "provide SSN and get license" from CNB. I go to California, get an employer or hire a Nursing agent for my process. How does this sound? And which step is not workable and what are the other options? Please advice me! Thanks in Advance.
  3. i am from Nepal but am a permanent resident of Australia. I am a newbie here to this site. This is so wonderful, to get advice and help so promptly. I mean it feels good to share your problems here and hope for a solution. Hope i keep getting more advice and i can then decide on the best course to take. Thank You!
  4. You are so wonderful! Thanks for the prompt reply. I asked some universities here in Brisbane but it seems they have midwifery courses (post grad) for 1 year. And i am not doing that!! I have a tourist visa to the USA so i might go and do that 6 weeks course you mentioned. Are there some in Sacramento? The Nursing Board does not really help in this, i already asked them, they tell me it is for me to find the school! I studied in Singapore and it seems it is short in Obstetrics. Once i get to the USA, i can stay 6 months there. What are the chances for me to go there, finish this OBS course, pass my nclex and get a job and then a green card? But then, there will be another problem, CA Nursing Board doesnt give out licenses without SSN. Why must it be so difficult i wonder!!
  5. Hello Folks, can any of you help me with this please? I am an RN here in Brisbane (Australia) but did my studies in Singapore. Upon evaluation, CA Nursing board tells me that i have to do Obstetric Nursing theory and practical. Does anyone out there know where in Brisbane i can do that, which is recognised by CA Nursing board? Help me please!
