  1. Beachcomber5, Hello!! I am also hearing impaired. I read your posting and it motivates me to get done with school. I am a older student, but I find that my love for school is even greater than it was before. I just love to learn and I plan on getting my NP (specializing in Women's Health) I also work in a hosptial part-time. I work in an Oncology Unit. I don't normally tell anyone of my disability. I do work with the Dept. of Rehab in my county, they have been extremely helpful and will be paying for me to get my RN. I just recently have to make a decision. My job and working the 12 hour shifts while going to school has made it difficult to keep my grades up. I have been seriously thinking about quitting my job to concentrate on my studies. My kids need a better life. I really don't know what to do. Well, anyways I don't want to sound like I need pitty from anyone. There two things I never tell an employer 1. my disabliity and 2. the amount of children i have. please email me anytime. I think your posting is what i needed read today. talk to you soon, Carla
  2. Hello There, My name is Carla. I love your country. I lived in Brindisi for about 4 years. I would like to buy a villa in Italy one day. It's a dream of mine. I did give birth to a my daughter in Brindisi in a small hospital (de suma) Her name is Cinzia. What hospital do you work at? Is the salary good for Nurses in Italy. I do miss the food. Hmmmmm.
  3. Hello Everyone, I want to get some advice on my situation. I am heading into the last year of school before applying to Nursing School. I didn't do well 2007-2008 school year. My mother had passed away. I have had a lot of time to heal (almost a year), but I don't think no one would be able to heal totally. I miss her everyday and wish I could feel her beautiful hands. I know I must move on. My mother knew that I had a desire to get educated and become a Nurse. Well, I am ready to continue to get that BSN degree. I'm hoping also to get my NP. I have been thinking a lot about quitting my present job and concentrating full-time on my studies. I work @ a hospital in the Oncology Unit. I love this job and I am hoping that when I get my degree I will be able to work here for about a year or so. I do love Nursing, but FOR ME 12 hour shifts and studying just won't be a good idea. My education is basically paid for. I did get a GPA grant, which allows me to attend full-time. I am bless for this. I was also told by my counselor that I will be on a conditional status with financial aid, because last year. So, I took two summer classes which end Sept 2 and I registered for the fall, which starts Sept 25. I have to work my butt off to show myself that I can make a positive change. I don't think I can do this working a full-time job. I have to totally concentrate. I am an okay student, but in order for me to be a outstanding student I have to focus on school. So is anyone out there have any ideas for me. What should I do? I do have children 6. I have eight, but three are grown. I really need to make a better life for us. I only receive 11.00 an hour @ the hospital. I have been trying to find information on working from home. Does anyone know any websites that I can work from home. I have been also looking into home based business. Please if anyone can give me some advice. I would rather quit my job and concentrate on Nursing. Thanks everyone. God Bless, Carla
