  1. I was applying for second degree program. BSN programs around here require a lot of prerequisites and do not start until Summer or Fall. I was admitted to NMSU, so I am gonna start there. Its pretty much the same program, however I like UNM better because it is more organized. I will try to apply for Summer to UNM, if I get in I might continue (or start over) at UNM, if not I will continue at NMSU.
  2. Sept 15th was deadline for both spring and summer, that is right. But you could only apply to one semester. If you want to apply to Summer semester I think the new deadline is Febr 15th, same as for fall 09. I know that you have to do the application process all over again.
  3. Medic09, They took 8 students including residents and non-residents. They had 68 applicants and I think 48 of them were qualified, so they were selecting out of those 48.
  4. Ohh... It will be embarrasing to ask my professors for new references... I know for Spring 09 they took 8 students out of 68 applicants. Their preference is NM residents. For Summer I think they will take 12, however I am not sure.
  5. Do you know if one needs to submit recommendations again in order to apply for summer?
  6. I did apply but didnt get in
  7. I am planning on attending NMSU. How do you like the school? The city?
  8. Thank you very much for your response!!!
  9. I have completed A&P 1 and 2 and Microbiology. I also took Statistics in my undergraduate course work.
  10. I have far less prerequisites that you have. I can name you couple of schools: University of Florida (req. GRE), Virginia Commonwealth University (Req. GRE) these two start in May; University of New Mexico and New Mexico State University start in Fall 2009 and require min. amount of prerequisites. You have to research all schools in all states to find something.
  11. I need input from CRNAs please...
  12. I say one should try all sources. Sometimes colleges rate their professors too. Selecting the right professor is very important!!!
  13. Look at your professor's ranking on ratemyprofessors.com before you register for his clas. This helps a lot. A&P is a had class.
  14. A&P is not as hard as it seems. A lot depends on teacher as well. Try to remember as much as you can. Noone can remember the whole thing. You will be fine.
  15. There are a whole bunch of them. Do a search in google. Which state are you interested in? Some of them start in Summer 09, as early as May.
  16. I dont think that there is a drawback for starting in spring. Don't forget you have to prepare for and pass the licensure exam after you graduate. Finding a job depends on a state. I think if you make contacts at the hospitals where you do your clinicals you will be fine.
  17. Hello. If a person tests positive for hepatitis B core antigen and antibodies, meaning he has had hepatitis b but it cleared off, does this situation affects his chances for getting hired as CRNA? Do hospitals, when hiring, look for hepatitis b negative surface antigens, negative core antigens or both? Thank you for your help!!!!
