  1. I deal with this everyday working in an ICU, I think it is the hardest part about being a nurse in the ICU setting. You don't say whether ethics was called. People need education on what Health Care Proxy, Living Will and DNR really mean and it should start in High School. So sorry for this nurse, know what you went through and it is hard not to feel like we fail them.
  2. Thanks for the input I will definately have it taxed. I am used to being taxed in good ole New York, where we are taxed for everything. My priority is to be home so the money is not the important thing.
  3. I am not sure this is the forum for this, but how do you view or your hospital view comfort care? To me it is do what you can to make them comfortable, I had a charge nurse tell me I should be checking my patients vitals every shift and I disagreed. What is your take?
  4. Hello, I am new to allnurses, I have a question, I am being offered a travel job that is about 10 miles from my home and am wondering about tax issues. I have not spoken with the recruiter yet ( she left me a message) but if there is a stipend should I have it taxed. I needed to be close to home for the next 13 weeks due to my kids in a lot of sports. Also I have another recruiter looking at assignments that are about 60-70 miles away. What should I be aware of if I take an assignment so close to home? This is my second assignment. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks, Patty,N.Y.
